Grommet to plug the oval hole in the tailgate and keep some debris out. I got the 4pk on Amazon, but only needed 1.

FYI for anyone else that buys a pack and then sells the extras. The USPS would not let me ship via normal post because they were too...
I have my eye on this. I really do like the fit and finish of AEV stuff and this looks perfect for my use case. I do with it had a front track bar and rear relo bracket at least. AEV is one of few suspension companies that talks about spring/shock tuning and natural frequencies of their...
I found these while browsing Tacoma World and people seem happy with them. Has anyone bought one? It says that it is incompatible with the Trail Rail, and I'm wondering if it could be modified to work with it...
More to support my line of reasoning: https://www.denverpost.com/2006/10/16/some-knock-states-lower-octane-levels/
The number of cars I hear knocking driving down the street on a hot day in Denver is :crying:
85 is likely fine thanks to knock sensors that will detect knock and pull timing. But I run 87 as the manual states.
Here is my unpopular opinion and complete ass-talking: 85 octane as the standard at high altitude states was started when cars were carbureted. With a carburetor, airflow vs carb...
Today I washed, clay barred, and applied the Griots 3-in-1 Ceramic wax. I'm hoping it'll last through winter, we'll see. I like my stuff to look nice but I don't like maintaining it all the time.
Do you have published spring rates/effective spring rates or at least shock recommendations who's tuning will play nice with your spring rates?
Also, are these coils frequency tuned front/rear?
I'll drop this in here. Very clever self extraction technique if you dig yourself a hole. Low air pressure, 4lo, lockers if you got em, slowly spin the wheels and turn left and right.
Side note: I wish our JT's had a v8 to sound like this:rock:
OEMs have some pretty extreme internal standards for cooling. At least from the one's I've seen, some test WOT for some time at like 120F ambient and it can't over heat. Stuff that you would never seen in the real world.
I'd also imagine it has to do with cooling capacity. They've mentioned before that cooling is the bottleneck for towing on these things, I bet it's also the bottleneck for power. You can only make power if you can reject the heat. Those Rams have a much larger frontal area.
Since you're llooking at straight racks, have you seen this guy's custom job? Low pro straight rack that isn't busy and looks quite good in my opinion. Seems to be high function without much loss of form...
Agreed with the above saying don't sweat it until ~1500mi or so. Still working that way on my JTR, but I remember when I got my JLUR, the MPG was awful for the first 1500-2000mi.
