I agree. I can just see situations where I could be unhappy with 4.88ās and 5.13ās. Just a matter of which one would make me happier overall. And that I canāt seem to figure out.
Thatās the thing is where I am (900ft) itās relatively the same elevation all around. Might jump up to 2-2500 depending on which direction I go. Not not really any āmountainsā lol
Iām back and forth. Day to day I almost feel like the 4.88 would be better. Itās mostly a driver and is quite lightweight (all things considered). I would like to get it offroad more but who knows. With 4.88ās I feel like it would drive great how it sits now. I feel like I just need that little...
If you tow even once a year should you go 5.13ās? Like I said I tow a small utility trailer across town, which in its current configuration is perfectly adequate. The camper towing would be at speeds of 55-70 though.
I have a 21ā JTR. Currently itās in 37 ko2ās. It really isnāt bad at all drivability wise. I see 8th, sometimes itāll hunt a little but I donāt think itās that bad. Having said that I do think it could be better, and a little more resistant to hills and wind. I do tow on occasion. Over the...
Iāve been considering regearing my gladiator for some time. I thought I had heard via a video that the jl and jt axles are different than the prior jkās and thereās a different process while performing the gear change. I know they have the FAD but I thought thereās something different that makes...
I have a set of control arm drop brackets/geometry correction brackets for a Jeep gladiator. I loose fitted these to my Jeep and found that they DO NOT WORK WITH METALCLOAK UPPER CONTROL ARMS. The pocket in which the upper control arm mounts to the bracket isnāt large enough to accept the...
I mean I know itās not much different in height so in hindsight itās probably not worth it lol. But I just want them š youād be jumping 10lbs a tire and I would be around 20. The diesel Iām sure would make life more enjoyable.
I have the itch for 38ās. Currently running 37ā ko2ās, which fortunately weight 62 lbs. Iām nervous about stepping up to a 38 due to weight and increased diameter. But I REALLY want them LOL. Anyone running them with 4.10ās? I really donāt want to regear and am perfectly content with how the...
I was referring to the lock nuts on adjustable arms. Most want you to torque them to 200+ but itās impossible without a crows foot adapter on a torque wrench.
People routinely torque control arm nuts to 200+ with crows feet adapters. I would make certain that the new link doesnāt have a stronger stud. 40lb increase in torque is quite a difference if itās the same bolt.
Hoping this will reach someone that may be considering this combination. I purchased the evo drop brackets to install on my 3.5 MC GC lift. I installed the brackets and upon reinstallation of the upper control arm I have found that the āpocketā that the upper control arm slides into and...
The pitman shaft appear to have teeth that ride on the worm gear. Those donāt wear and allow slop? When turn my steering wheel and feel the play, the pitman arm doesnāt move Indicating the play is in the box. Where is the worn part causing the play if the sector shaft doesnāt move?
No, that's not where the wear is. There aren't splines inside to wear out. It's the rack, the sector gear, bearings and so on inside that wear. There's also a lot of force on that lower pitman shaft bushing, which can wear it and lead to side-to-side play in the pitman shaft.
And unless...
Itās literally a sector shaft brace. It is to prevent lateral movement of the downward facing shaft.
The box can have play between the gears inside, hence the adjustment you can make to the preload. A brace will stop the shaft from moving side to side externally, but it will not tighten up worn...
