  1. What I need to know; First time out w/ my JTRD

This is good advice, take your own risks not those that others think you should. It’s your rig, don’t give in to “just send it” or “ it’ll be fine, I did it.”
  2. Oh geez, not another tire thread....

Factory 18” Overland Wheels, aftermarket wheels with the right backspace shouldn’t be a problem on up to 12.50 wide tires
  3. Oh geez, not another tire thread....

3.73’s with ~35” tires do well enough, you loose a bit of power, but it’s not gutless. With a 305 width your enemy will be your LCAs and sway bar end links, I’m on a 295/70r18(34.3x11.5) and I am losing some paint on my LCA’s even though I have never felt or heard rubbing, another 1/2” of width...
  4. Gasser real world fuel economy

At 12k miles on my gas overland with 3.73’s , ~35” tires and a Tazer that recalibrated the speedo I have gotten up to 21mpg with the cruise at 65 for 400 miles of South Dakota intestate, 18.5 mpg on the same stretch going 80 on the way home. Daily driving around town I get between 17-19...

  7. RSI SmartCap with CVT Mt Hood RTT

This is my end goal is an RSI Smartcap with a low profile wedge RTT like that. Such a sleek look and so much room for storage under that cap. Awesome set up. If I didn’t also need to daily my Gladiator and need the bed the Alucab topper/tent is the same look but more dedicated camper shell.
  8. Wheel spacer option/concern for 35's on Overland OEM wheels. Thoughts?

Here the picture I think you are looking for. These pictures are all with stock suspension and on road there is zero rub, 1/2”-3/4” from LCA’s and sway bar links with steering locked either direction. Fenders are very close to rubbing front and rear when flexed out, so I have since added a...
  9. Wheel spacer option/concern for 35's on Overland OEM wheels. Thoughts?

I also kept my Overland wheels but rather than run wheel spacers or compromise down to a 33 I found that 295/70r18’s are a bit of a Goldilocks size. At 34.3x11.5, height wise they are in line with many “35x12.50” just a bit narrower. Still look nice and beefy, and perform well off road. I went...
  10. What’s a good roof top tent and rack?

Overland Vehicle Systems Nomadic 3 fits over the bed perfectly at 63”and is good quality. Its a step above some of the entry level tents as it has the diamond plate metal base, nice mattress and the full telescoping ladder. I was able to knock a good chunk off with the discount code...

  15. Would you buy a base gladiator if you couldnt do any mods?

I bought my overland equipped the same way… I still changed things lol.
  16. My Jeep is just a tool

It’s liberating to detach from the shiny object you drove off the lot, and to just integrate the vehicle into the experience. My Jeep’s purpose is to bring me and my family happiness, not to retain resale value.
  17. What determines which trims and options make it to a lot

For some high volume cars, dealers get kick backs on “popular equipment” packages, you would see 15 of the exact same mid spec, car or SUV just in every different color. The Chevy dealerships near me load themselves up with cheap cars that way... or used to when you could get loads of new...
  18. Scratched spacer lift install.

I wouldn’t have even known they were wrong until I tried to figure out how they worked.
  19. Scratched spacer lift install.

I have been sitting on a Daystar .75” full spacer kit and Rubicon take off shocks and springs since December. When I tried to throw them in back I’m December I couldn’t drop the axel low enough with just the bottle jack I had to get the springs out. Tossed in the front shocks while I had it all...
