The topper needed a really good cleaning. It was full of Utah red dust that had crept into every possible crevice. Required that I take everything apart and spend an afternoon cleaning it.
On a positive note it made me very familiar with the entire setup. And post cleaning all the drawer...
A few exterior photos of the AT Overland topper as I purchased it…
I’m very happy with the purchase of the used topper as it is extremely well made by the team at AT Overland. And buying it used meant that I got it at a significant discount versus new retail price.
Huge bonus are all...
It’s been over 5 years that I’ve owned the truck and it’s been a really good vehicle. It went from daily driver to weekend duty, so I think I can now turn it into more of a purpose-built overland truck.
So, that super stout AEV-inspired custom bedrack and all its extra parts was the first...
@darkhorse13 thanks for the above post and the PM too - super helpful!
@Sarge502 funny your comment about AEV’s bumpers…I’m a big fan of their bumpers (but not their pricepoint!). It’s what I initially liked about AEV as I think they look factory and are quite stout…not like many other brands...
@darkhorse13 thanks for the above detailed comments about the AEV HC rear coils and comparisons to Clayton and Synergy. Additionally, I was considering Dobinsons and Ironman as they have rear coil springs rated above 1,000#.
The AEV HC coils are rated to 770#, so I was concerned about running...
Original owner and an early forum member back when we thought the JT was going to be called a Scrambler. Lol.
Ordered my JT in March 2019 and took delivery in early August 2019. Drove it daily for a few years (incl Covid) before retiring it to weekend duty.
It only has 38K miles and still on...

Jeep Gladiator custom bed rack and tonneau cover.
The bed rack was custom fabricated from welded (not bolted together) thick wall 1.75” round steel tubes.
Mounts to Jeep Trail Rails with theft proof stainless steel security bolts. Sits on top of the bed rails and was made to lock...
Before someone calls ME out on it my forum handle was BEFORE Jeep selected Gladiator as the JT’s name and we all thought it might be a retro move with “Scrambler”. But I also don’t feel compelled to slather that name down the side my hood…
@cranbiz we’ll consider giving Wannacon a pass (it...
Can someone post up exactly what profile (part#, size, etc.) of 80/20 you are using on top of the bed rail and exactly how you’ve secured it to the Trail Rails? Thanks!
Agree with all the prior comments about bad Jeep trends including angry grilles, ducks on dashes, colored door hinges, mall crawler 20” rims, low profile mud tires, small fenders, anything FabFours, etc.
Here’s one trend that I do not understand: hood names. Last time I checked, a Jeep is not...
@BourbonRunner I’d have to look back at my receipts but it was something basic off Amazon so that replacement would be easy and quick if needed.
Moto-Built light tab brackets were welded to the rack. That’s the key to getting them to rotate >180* into the bed area or out directly from the...
Pictures of the bumper, bedrack, and bedcover in use and in their natural habitat.
The bed rack lives on my Gladiator 24/7 and was designed (by me) such that it doesn’t hinder rear visibility in daily use. It also was made such that it could have items secured to it via ratchet straps (i.e...
