You're welcome Mark. Feel free to PM me with any questions you have. Mud flaps aren't really rocket science, but it still took me 2 tries to get them just the way I wanted them (although that could also be my mild case of OCD).
Well, not exactly...
In 2H, the RH side front axle disconnect is disconnected. This means the LH front axle is turning in the direction of the tire, but the driveshaft is stationary, so the RH inner axle is turning in the opposite direction of the tire and the RH outer axle is turning in the...
I really did NOT want Rokblokz flaps for my Mojave, but here is how I ended up with them: I reasoned that the Rubicon and Mojave fenders and standard rock rails were the same, so any molded flap that fits the Rubicon should fit the Mojave. However, the Mojave has different offset wheels, so I...
They are prone to leaking on the JK 3.6. Some say they crack due to over-tightening the filter cap, some say the o-rings start to leak. I have done every oil change on my 2014 JK and I use 120 in-lbs torque on the filter cap instead of the 18 ft-lbs specified. When I replaced my cooler...
Yeah, but I still noticed that there is no mud on the underside of the side steps until about 1/2 way back. That should also help with minimizing snow build-up in the winter.
There is no doubt that without the side steps the rear fenders would get plastered with mud and whatever else comes...
Well, I finally got a chance to test out the Rokblokz flaps on my Mojave. These flaps are the same length but slightly wider than the Regular/Long. In a combination of low speed & high speed (45mph) driving on wet/muddy dirt roads, they performed really well. Absolutely no mud made it to the...
I use TranStar 4423 Amber Rustproofing around the center pilot diameter on the hub. I spray it into a container, let it thicken up a little, then brush it on to get it exactly where I want it and to avoid the lug studs. I also brush it onto the ends of both the front & rear axle shafts to keep...
Yeah, I've tried everything I can think of. My noise does not seem to be impacted by any of the following, it always happens at the same speed:
2WD / 4Auto / 4HI
AC on/off
Dash display screen on/off
Fan speed / fan off
Recirc. on/off
Radio on/off
Transmission gear
Engine RPM
Engine running /...
It's interesting how such a simple question can be so complicated.
On one hand, I always like to be helpful and treat other people the way I want to be treated. On the other hand, what happens if something goes wrong, which can happen even in the most basic recovery situation? And sometimes...
IMO, a pressure washer is good at pushing salty water/sand/debris into places it would not normally get, and places you don't necessarily want it to be. I recommend a relatively low pressure flush.
I wash out the undercarriage and fenderwells of my Jeep JK a lot - almost every time I go...
I still think my sound is the power steering pump motor. The electric power steering pump is mounted on fairly 'squishy' rubber mounts. I shoved a little block of wood in between the bracket and the pump motor this afternoon, and I seemed to quiet it down a little. I removed the wood and put...
It makes the same noise no matter the temperature, although it may be very slightly quieter when it isn't fully warmed up. Also, the noise happens even with the engine shut off & coasting.
My noise doesn't appear to be wind noise. I've taped off every gap around the windshield and back of the hood and it has no impact on the noise. Plus, my windshield frame alignment is excellent. My noise happens at exactly the same speed all the time, and it is not impacted by windy conditions.
FYI, my 2021 Mojave whistled from the driver's side from the get-go. I thought it was the alignment of the freedom panels, but figured I would start investigating the easiest fix first. I taped over the gap as shown by Papa Smurf in post #11 but on the driver's side, and my noise went away. I...
The dealer may verbally tell you something, but unless they put it in writing, it usually doesn't mean too much.

I ditched the thumb screws for mounting my flaps. I used stainless screws, fender washers and nyloc nuts for mounting. I used blue Loctite on the rear hardware holding all the pieces together.
