I have a manual... there is a hole in the firewall near the brake booster that is used for the washer fluid extension on the JL hard tops. Since we don't have washer/wipers this hole should be available to you as well. Here's my JL post on the topic...

Nothing was installed... just loose 2-gauge wires waiting for something to connect to. The winch was in, but electric was not.

I experienced the same power interruption you are referring to in my 2018 JL with the 3.6 and 6MT. Still have it in my JT :(

Just be careful cruising above 3000 RPM as the 2-stage oil pump kicks into "high gear". I don't know what the long term effects are of running the pump/pressure that high.
