The Mopar (tereflex) 2 inch lift is a great start but for me it opened the door for more. Certainly allows for 37’s but with jeep bringing back the FAD plus the heft of the tires and the hard alignment caused by a short track bar and bad caster, a change was needed.
Since we were doing the...
I was in high school in the 90s so I am partial to the YJ. Certainly not the best jeep but it gave us the fuel injected 4.0.
I’ve had two. The ‘91 was my favorite because it had the CJ roll bar. My ‘92 went much farther, trying to recreate the period look of what you might see in the mid...
Install went great. Had some time to put some break in miles on the JTR with the mods. Turned out awesome. Here’s the setup:
Steering:
RPM Steering 7075 aluminum tie rod and Drag Link (2.5 ton)
RPM Steering stabilizer mount
Steer Smarts Yeti HD adjustable track bar
Clayton Off Road adjustable...
Lots of options out there for sure, and my personal view is it depends on application. Doing the math, 4.56 is the right gear to pull final drive into stock spec with a 37 inch tire. 4.88 gets you a little more pep. If overlanding with heavy gear and 38’s then a 5.13 could definitely suit. My...
Thats awesome. Its a good crew. The owner spent a couple hours with me on a saturday. Honestly the vibe there is like a bunch of cool guys hanging out and talking jeeps more than a sales pitch. Cant say that for most places.
Bama $500 an axle is right on top of what I paid, I think their shop labor is $105 or so an hour @ 5 hrs an axle. The total will depend on the type of parts a little. I think the rack price for dana spicer rings and install kits is around $550 or so an axle. Then figure on $100 or so of lube and...
We got the jeep back today. Installs went well. Got back too late to take pictures but will follow up with more details. For now, the quick thing to say is the steering and response from the mods are a game changer. Steering Slop and pull to the right is gone. Jeep has a ton more pep. Entire...
So, the debate, at least for me, is settled
I watched all the videos. Scrubbed all the forums. Checked all the pricing too.
Like a lot of us, My JTR rides on 37 mud terrains on a mopar lift. For everyone who says the 4.10s are fine with this kind of set up, you are right. You can get down the...
Curious to get your thoughts on the yeti track bar and synergy sector shaft brace. Going with similar set up except i am going with different drag link and tie rod. Being installed this week.
How do you like it?
What are some good trails in Alabama? I am familiar with little river canyon and talledega national forest 600-1.
looking for fun trails - not too tough. Not ready to punish this brand new rig.
17 mpg mixed driving on 37 inch toyo mt’s and two inches of lift with stock 4.10s. I baby it around town.
Will be interesting to see what the 4.88’s do when we finish the install next week. Also the clayton adjustable LCA’s we are putting on should improve smiles per gallon too.
Another one of my old jeeps. Bought this 2001 back in 2016 and kept it for a year or so. Cleaned it up and did a lot of tune up and preventative maintenance but never got to mod it before selling (for a profit). Sold this and my scat pack to get into a truck after my kid was born.
I have the mush mats with the plugs. The plugs are only for the front seat. Between the alabama mud and mish mash of cheerios, ice cream, rasins and other assorted snacks dropped by my three year old, they have already paid for themselves.
There’s no plugs in the back. Whoever made that call...
