Just out of curiosity, if you’re not going to be throwing on 37s....do you really need to install the bump stops included with the Mopar 2”?????? I really want that travel back...anybody running this lift without em?!?!?!
I didn’t read your whole post, too much blah blah blah LOL, but spray the front and rear of each grommet on your 3 exhaust hangers to start...this was an issue that developed on mine....the noise sounded like metal on metal grinding, but wasn’t...
Second,
Pull the pins on both your lower ball...
Well after doing weeks and weeks of back and forth, a million different possible approaches , finally pulled the trigger on the Mopar...should be the -AC (latest) revision, I’ll measure before and after for sure and report back
I hope so...to be honest, I feel like the kits have “looked” all over the place for a while....but I do hope you’re right because on average people were reporting 2-2.5”, while the JLs have been reporting 3-3.5” (and the Mopar kit on my JK was easily 3”)
Nice, ill definitely check it out, see if the coupon makes it worth while. I guess the only issue with it (as normally is), Mopar lists the kit price for so high, which the coupon will bring down around teh range everyone else is selling the kit for...we'll see tho
UPDATE: Mopar.com says...
Called Mopar Performance today and had them email me the latest install instructions. These were dated October 2020 (which is different than what Quadratec and every other place has posted, with i believe is April 2019). Anyways, just a quick first look comparing BOM's, the latest AC kit has...
Yeah I think they may have changed the rear shock absorbers...as the part listed in the AB instructions are discontinued on most Mopar wholesaler websites
Just for reference, my JTR LE is at 4.1 degrees on both sides, stock...which is definitely on the low end of the spec but still in, was thinking of getting the Mopar 2” LCA’s whether I do the whole kit or not...
Any more info on this? It looks like the rear shock absorber “AB” P/N is discontinued now too, but the replacement is not just “AC”, It must’ve got a completely new part number...wonder if anyone who had the AC kit has the new instructions with updated BOM?
YEAHHHHHHHYHH BUDDDDY!!!:rock::rock::rock: Looking good, that’s my one concern with the shocks from the Mopar lift, I feel like for an”aftermarket kit” the shock travel is so limited..:
Yeah I might actually go that route...might lose 1/2”max on extended travel but gain way more than that on collapsed (compared to the 2.5 Mopar Fox), I’m assuming your pleased with them?
Exactly what I’m thinking..the BDS # is definitely referring to the blank housing size...the other number is more than likely some type of product identifier, probably unique to the shocks they build for JKS 3” kit...it’s just getting confusing with them discontinuing / reusing some FOX P/Ns...
Ok, so the Rabbit Hole goes even a little deeper....BDS8250 refers to the shock body size, which seems specifically manufactured in tandem with BDS (which also found an article that said Fox Factory acquired BDS, and we know they have JKS, apparently they own everyone LOL) to build lift kits...
More updates, JKS said after some digging the length callout on their website is a typo and is being updated to 28”, still interested in what your shocks are engraved with...let me know!
I guess my other concern was this thread where the guy states the Mopar 2” shocks (rear) are 19” compressed and 27-15/16” extended, don’t know if that’s true but he’s stating he’s measuring them eye to eye...
Yeah definitely let me know what they stamped the shocks with (prt number) I believe you they’re 28”, im just curious if they’re uniquely identified.....
The plot thickens even more....asked JKS about It alittle while ago, they got right back to me essentially saying whoever I talked to at Fox...
