  1. 37s and 3.73s mpg

I guess your in rock crawling land. My tank with a mix of city, highway, and boat towing is at 22. I'm running stock 32s. Post back after re gear it'd be interesting to see how much the mileage changes.
  2. The Philistine thread - non-lifted Gladiators and not likely to be, either

I must be the ultimate philistine. I don't get the point of the leveling kit, with any weight in the back I'd rather not look like a dog dragging it's butt. ;)
  3. Enough about the ESS ! ( Auto Start Stop)

I'm just going to troll. I like the feature don't understand the hate. It's really nice with a manual. If i don't want it to go just hold the clutch.
  4. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

I wish i could say that it wasn't already all the way down, but I have it lowered as far as it'll go. My feet dangle like an amusement ride. I'm not tall and have short legs it's an awful combination. Public toilets are the worst. Ever tried to do your business when your feet can't touch the...
  5. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

No not angry just another socially inept engineer. Well maybe a bit angry with the Jeep finance guy that MFer i wanted to punch him. Trying to tell me the vehicle I'm buying is a POS and i need an extended warranty. I asked him "Is this vehicle built so poorly I should walk away from this sale?"...
  6. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Are the starters on these things that shoddy? I can't remember the last time i even heard about someone needing to replace their starter. You sound like the Jeep finance guy that tried to tell me the electronics they install are so shoddy i should buy an extended warranty. Even with the ESS...
  7. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

I don't understand the hatred of the ESS it's one of the features I like on the vehicle. Sitting at a light or drive through throwing gas through the engine for no reason seems stupid to me. I wish the seat was a bit closer to the floor. If i sit with my butt all the way back my feet don't...
  8. What happened to color?

My opinion is a bit more cynical. Buyers will settle for white or grey esp ones that would buy a color. There are some that like blue but never red or like red but never blue. Therefore dealers order safe colors to get vehicle to turn faster. Customer orders are rare so features that dealers...
  9. Lemon Law: What Would You Do?

Interesting I had a canyon that had an infotainment issue that was intermittant. GM gave me an extended component coverage for the radio but never "Fixed" the issue after multiple attempts. I just think their infotainment was @$)@. Mine would also random turn the radio volume to full for 3...
  10. New owner, with a little buyers remorse.

Guess I'm not sure what the manual says and it doesn't matter the tag on the car is what matters. Mine scaled out at 3,400 with me in it, door tag GVWR is 4,475. I tipped the scale at 150 at that time. I did miss remember my door tag on the gladiator. Sorry it was 1,021lbs.
  11. New owner, with a little buyers remorse.

My some what buyers remosre for my overland is the payload. My door tag says 1005 lbs. My WRX gross vehicle weight is 4,475 and it's curb weight is around 3,250 which puts it's payload at 1,225. That's kind of embarrassing.
  12. I want a Gladiator but I’m concerned it’s not safe enough for a family vehicle

Either that or the "Wagon" classification for the WRX dupes their system into thinking it's a station wagon .
  13. New owner, with a little buyers remorse.

I only have 550 miles on my overland but i've done some driving in wet gravel areas and the LSD makes a dang good difference. Lockers may be even better major down side is you have to use them. The LSD is just always there. I'm not a hardcore offroader but there are plenty of good tires in the...
  14. I want a Gladiator but I’m concerned it’s not safe enough for a family vehicle

Holy crap the new WRX's are stupid to insure. My 2013 hatch is $600 a year. Comparatively the gladiator is $1400. Our forester XT is $800 a year. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining that my "sports" car is the cheapest to insure.... :)
  15. Gladiator on fire, burned to the ground…

I'm 30, and if your not walking in a half mile to a tenting site and sleeping on the ground it's not camping. Those monster TTs seems silly, i can get a LOT of stays in a hotel for the cost of those things especially once you consider the gas and all the headaches towing it. Consider the lost...
  16. Gladiator on fire, burned to the ground…

I got a boat for sale, nice light 14' lund with a 25 hp Yamaha.... ;) If you want a travel trailer just get one. IMO just be reasonable with size. So many of these travel trailers are too over the top trying to repalce home. I wish they shifted to smaller and light weight. Most places i camp...
  17. I want a Gladiator but I’m concerned it’s not safe enough for a family vehicle

They seem pretty good. This is from another section of the forum. https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/just-ordered-check-in-here.24980/post-768361
  18. Time to order, build and deliver new Gladiator

Rubicons and Mojave appear to be moving quick. My overland was 8 weeks from order to delivery with 2 weeks of shutdown so that would seem like with no shutdowns 6 weeks could be accomplished. There really doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason why some get delayed and others fly through. From...
  19. Gladiator Window Sticker and Build Sheet Order Tracking

Depends on how far it needs to be delivered. Mine took 9 days from sticker to me driving it off the lot.
