for 13K you can get any of the hard side shells and a top line RTT . Add. a heater and power supply. It would be lighter and less wind resistant . But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I have thought of getting the Jscan just to set tire size and diff gears. Then install the Tazer for everything else so when it is removed it will go back to what is actually there. I just don't want to fall farther into the rabbit hole that I am already in.
I hope to have a few more years with the JT. My trans has not failed yet and I will have the dealer do a program on it. I have had no CELs for anything.
The transmission, cams, and all the other issues that many have had have taken Jeep off my list for future purchase . For the future a GX 550 looks good. But for now my JT is OK.
I had my GG replaced 2 weeks before the warranty was up. If I was going to Alaska I would have this or something installed. With the radio antenna in the glass the new GG must cost a bunch.
Outfit it for some real over landing. Wake up the 3.6 with some 4.88s. I am also always looking for ways to keep the love alive for the JT. My last mod is a for sale sign. But not yet. I still need to install my Triangular 4 link rear and my trans is showing signs of pending doom.
So it eventually will not go into reverse at all. That could be a very bad situation. Will there be any warnings of that about to happen. Not really comfortable going on a trip with it now.
Sounds like mine is headed down the same path and will someday fail but I have no CEL or messages yet so dealer won't really touch it. Mine only does the bad stuff once when it's cold. After it's warm all is good.
When you unmarrry it and remove it all the settings go back to factory. So my gear and tire settings will be way off, 4.88 vs 4.10 and 36.5 tires vs 33. What is the jeep going do with that when I drive it? I have herd many things. The dealer wants to re program mine to correct the hard clunk...
As I recall I set my size at 36.5 with my Tazer for my 37 BFG KO2. Very close to matching my Garmin GPS. I wish it would learn how to go into Reverse correctly when cold.
I have the JKS brackets with the Mopar 2 inch lift lower arms so I probably have too much caster but it drives great. I will have the alignment checked after I get the RockKrawler 4 link triangulated rear suspension installed.
You need more caster. 6 defog caster will make it drive much better. Everything else looks good. For a better ride and more caster I would add some geo-correction brackets. I have the JKS ones.
The guys at Northridge have Jeeps and know them. Would call them. If you want to design your own lift kit anything Synergy makes is quality along with MC.
