Funny how for a couple hundred bucks you could upgrade a truck from 6 cylinder to V8, and today a 50k truck is 100k if you add a v8.
A truck is an implement to be used to carry stuff. As soon as I get moved, I am starting my LS swap. Since Jeep won't do it, I will. Screw towing capacity...
Back when the idea helped win a war. Today they are better in every way except one. Simply easy to fix. I have never seen any generation last 300k miles, but today they are more reliable, yet more costly, and way too much nonsense that does not help you get home. Not that those are bad things...
I am not looking to buy anything. I have my gladiator, and I will never be able to afford another new one since the prices went sky high, but I like to look and just noticed the base prices and the fact a gladiator came in cheaper than the 2-door wrangler.
They are all garbage. All manufactures make crap. That is how they sell parts, and more cars. GM has just gone south in so many ways. I had so many Fords go to crap while still under warranty, swithced over to GM in 1990, and have had better luck, but still dealt with issues. Failed distributer...
Welcome to modern age built and designed by people in pajamas.
Mine has done it a few times. They can't stop that from happening but keep adding more electronic BS to vehicles. I find if I stop, shut it off, get out, close the door, and get back in, it might go away. Or maybe it won't.
I just noticed a 2026 Gladiator with standard automatic transmission has a starting price that is $1500 cheaper than a base 2 door wrangler with the only option being automatic transmission. That is a no brainer. Get the Gladiator. I am sure this was just a mistake, and jeep will fix it. And by...
I have a sunrider for hard top that I use in the summer. Panels on in winter. Weather in Cow Hampshire is never good enough to remove anything. Winter starts in October, and last til june. I hate it here. Ba humbug. Get off my lawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well since Jeep won't do it, and it cost 30k to drop a hemi in it, I think I am going old school and make this the second jeep with a GM drivetrain. I think it will get a 6.0 with either a 4L80E, or a 6L80E. Should be under 10k to make it happen, and I will never have to worry about reliability...
I am not sure about the deals out there, but the cost has gotten out of control like every other vehicle in a very short time. To equip a 2026 Willys the same way as my 2021 it would cost me 10k more. What do you get for that additional cost? A jumbo-tron screen that is useless.
Mine was...
I do. It goes 0-60 in a week. I have to punch it when I leave my driveway. One day I am sure something in the engine is going to want to start seeing other people.
Both of my 09s had DOD intact and working. One had 87k when I sold it, and the other had 135k when I sold it. Both were fun to drive ticking time bombs.
Well, it won't get out of it's own way now. I have to hammer it every day to get out of my driveway. My v8 cars get there without so many rpms. I can't see this engine lasting as long as a v8 that does not have to work as hard to do the same thing.
You are correct. The 2.7 is a great engine. Making max torque of 430 from 1500 to 4000 where it is needed. I have owned two Silverados with that engine. But the 3.6 does not make max torque til 4400. Maybe they can throw some turbos on the 3.6.
