  1. Bad steering box 68418449AE

Correct. Driving on the exact same stretch of road... Before: steering wheel was at the 9 to 10 o'clock position to stay straight on the road. After: almost 12 o’clock with very little corrections needed and all the bump steer is gone too.
  2. Bad steering box 68418449AE

Like it shoulda been from the beginning now! I love it! The ppl who say its not a problem really piss me off. Just because they havent had the pleasure of driving a bad one, means that every single JT is just like theirs in their minds.
  3. Drove a Wrangler today... My Gladiator definitely has much looser steering.

When I filed the complaint with them back in November there were only 18 others for the same thing.
  4. Steering issue?

Funny Funny how the 4 inches of dead zone went away with a good steering box replacement.
  5. Some hesitation and weird shifting

I have all of these same symptoms +2 that I’m wondering if anyone else has/had. There’s one road in town where I don’t always come to a complete stop and when I accelerate it feels like its not in any gear, as if it has an extremely worn clutch ( but its an 8spd auto). I have to let OFF the...

    Same numbers/letters
  7. Bad steering box 68418449AE

Got my 4th box installed today. Zero dead zone. Its amazing to drive now. For all those who say “its a Jeep thing” or its not your steering box...middle fingers for all you
  8. Front Axle Disconnect.

Has anyone done the Spicer FAD delete yet? Wondering if the Tazer has been updated to take care of all the issues when you do the delete? If not, how did you fool the computer? Resistor of sorts?
  9. Front Axle Disconnect.

Looks like I’m joining the FAD club. Is the intermediate shaft kit still on back order?
  10. Bad steering box 68418449AE

The first 2 boxes I had were horrible/comical, up to 4 inches when it’s warm out (above 50). This 3rd box is much better (but still shitty) up to 2 inches. I would be happy with 1” or less free-play.
  11. Bad steering box 68418449AE

Unfortunately I think we all know the answer (until proven wrong) there wont be a recall. I will have even more details coming out in about 2 weeks.
  12. Bad steering box 68418449AE

Yup, the worst part is that Jeep has known about this for a few years at least, same issue with JLU’s. Which is the exact same box with a different part number. Pure speculation on this...I think they just changed the part number and called it a “revised box”.
  13. Bad steering box 68418449AE

That is the info. Cant say where it came from for about 2 weeks tho.
  14. Jeep invites you to the first ever Jeep Brand digital livestream roundtable

If you guys really care about your customers, you will send me a good steering box. Unless the rumor is true, that you guys dont care about the problem until a certain number of people die from accidents caused by it.
  15. Jeep invites you to the first ever Jeep Brand digital livestream roundtable

Not one word about why I’ve had bad steering boxes and unable to enjoy my Jeep since I bought it 6 months ago. So dissapointing
  16. Jeep invites you to the first ever Jeep Brand digital livestream roundtable

Can u ask Jim M if his Gladiator has a good steering box? If yes, can he send it to me?
  17. Jeep invites you to the first ever Jeep Brand digital livestream roundtable

Please, for my own (& others) sanity, the bad steering boxes must be addressed. Mostly what you plan to do to fix it. A revised box? Some kind of actual quality control in the manufacturing process of these boxes could have prevented the whole disaster IMO. Thanks
  18. Bad steering box 68418449AE

Correct. Well, the wheel will move with enough pressure side to side on a good box. On mine, the wheel is in total freeplay side to side 1-4 inches. That is direct freeplay inside the box. Its the same amount of play when its running, but harder to tell. Next time your in your JT have your...

Just so you know, the wandering is a separate issue from the 1-4” deadzone freeplay inside the steering box. I have the brace to fix the wandering, but after 6 months I still dont have a good steering box.
  20. Jeep invites you to the first ever Jeep Brand digital livestream roundtable

Is the 1” - 4” dead-zone in hundreds of the 68418449AE steering boxes going to be addressed in this livestream event?
