So I wind up with ~$2100 in options for
Hard Top- predictable
Tow pack- good value vs $140 for just a hitch;
Aux Switches- both include the bigger alternator, so maybe its a couple bucks less when combined;
Brake controller- unless they want more for their $200 redarc;
Bed liner- 250 for a...
I mean, to the consumer, dollar to dollar comparisons are more meaningful than how many trim levels might exist above or below a particular model. Yes, the Gladiator Sport will likely match or exceed the TRD Offroad (depending on conditions) and will be easier to set up with bigger tires, etc...
HI may be small, but it will likely be a sales battle ground- the Tacoma is the best selling vehicle, giving that market potential for high penetration
You can, and you can’t. You can load almost anything in an airplane, and be anywhere in the world within 18h. But it would cost more than even a loaded Rubicon.
Actual transport time to HI is probably closer to 2 weeks, if you don’t have to wait for the RORO ferry in LA.
Could also be some stability issues (tread squirm and such) that would have prevented the 6000# tow rating on the Rubicon if the BFGs were used. Interestingly, if you pick the MT's, you get a 97mph speed limiter.
In the C load range tires, the Wildpeak ATs have a slightly higher (=78#) load...
They probably will get only the diesel version, and SOP for US diesel models and European models will be the same. The 3l ecodiesel is big for Europe- although the Amarok has a 3lV6 diesel now, and the X class has one available. the JL uses the 2.2 Multijet (or 2L eTorque, no cost option)
They're Michigan plates- the red sotf top and white one are sequential- the hard top in the towing sequence is in the same sequence. I guess selling the vehicles to a marketing firm would be external sales. I bet most, if not all of these "sales" are technically leases through FCA Finance. That...
thanks for spelling it out. Even though it seems like a hassle to have to keep DEF in the tank, too, the systems actually run better than many DPF only systems did. To circle back to the "boo!" up above, there is not currently an economical way to get a diesel to pass emissions regs without SCR...
My last truck came with an under-the-rail liner and naked bed rails. Once they became scuffed up, I sprayed them with rattle can bed liner- came out great. In a truck that has a spray-in liner, I'd prefer to just have the liner material extend over the rail.
Suppose those are colored fenders with protective film? Is the cowl black because of protective film?
Ram offers several greens on the HD work trucks- Black Forest and Timberline are dark pearl colors, but Tree Green (Exterior PaintSales code: P73_02) is a nice dark solid green.
While I can't describe how the two colors are different,
Odd- why would there be two plugged mounting holes on the driver side, but not on the passenger?
Embargo of reviews is pretty common. I'm guessing that marketing wants media reviews, Easter Jeep Fiasco, NY Auto show (pricing) and dealer deliveries to come in a steady stream. Their schedule has definitely slipped though- this time last year it looked like they would be on the same time line...
I can't find any incidence where a pickup version of an SUV wasn't cheaper than said SUV. Sure, magic 7-slot grille, but no way is it 7 grand more. That would put it at $45 just to get power windows and a roof. The 2018 Power wagon starts at $52k (with a winch). the '19 model will cost a little...
