Great post and fun thread, thanks everyone!
I had mods on my 2021 Mojave within about 8 hours after picking it up at the dealership, lol.
Fingers crossed I can get it paid off by early 2025, that will be a relief.
I am interested also. I don't think I can do the whole week but would love to do the Mojave Road over 3-4 days if I can swing the dates you are doing this trip.
Jeeps have been overpriced for the last decade at least. Just because the manufacturer puts a MSRP on it doesn't mean it is 'worth' that price. They price it for what they think people will pay, period.
I name an MSRP (My Special Retail Price) of $75K on my 2021 Mojave, discount it 10% if...
PHEV is better than EV imo, primarily because of RANGE. I don't have to worry about finding a charging station in the backcountry and waiting 30-90 minutes to charge up with a PHEV. I may have to carry fuel, but I can't carry "electricity" to charge an EV.
So, a JT 4xe would be on my wish...
Interesting thread, late to the party, but 2 cents anyway.
I have a JT Mojave, 4.10 gears, running 35" BFG KO2.s with a SmartCap, Frontrunner rack and Decked system. I used a Tazer to size the tires and get shifting on the 8-speed auto to fall in line.
I know I run with roughly 500 lbs load at...
My wife fell for a Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. It took a few days driving as a rental while her other car was in the shop & she was sold. Not a rock crawler but at least it is in the family! It actually is pretty capable for easy to moderate trails, she just won't let me take it on moderate...
Interesting topic, older but still relevant. In my 2021 Gladiator manual there is a section (couple pages) for "Selec-Speed Control" which is pretty informative. Not sure if they added that or no one noticed it because of the name that no one would guess had to do with a crawl mode or hill...
I don't like the black hardtop so I go for body color match if possible everytime. If they made the top white I would like that better, but black is way to hot in desert climates.
"Normal" driving conditions for some of us IS driving up mountains and frequent towing. So the use case stated here means that PHEV's are not as capable as gas or diesel. I agree PHEV is far superior to an EV for 99% of the people who use them for more than in-town commutes. But neither seem...
I have been eyeballing this : Amazon.com: Trailfx Trail FX 20000 Truck Boot : Automotive
I had one several years ago and it worked pretty well. Just hard to get enough cool air to flow all the way back there & the dogs kept coming through the window into the cab haha. So this time around I...
Honestly I think the 4xe is way better than any of the EV's out there. At least you can run on gas when you travel longer distances. The infrastructure isn't readily available to "fill up" an EV when the batteries drain at the end of their range. The cost and time required to fully charge...
