This thread went silent quick. There was more positivity in the earlier pages - then it sounds like people were having issues and the light switch was turned off. It's been over a year. Did people's experience with Hamburgers go south? Are there other brands of SCs that have been issue free?
THANK you!! I never got mine installed before my trip and this should make it much easier/better on my lifted JT. $50 for 2 + $16 shipped to NJ makes them seem a bit salty for what they are.
I haven't read anywhere about someone that did and and reported back. I'm going to make one in the next couple of days before I drive from the east coast to Colorado. I will have a full payload driving out, I will be renting a trailer and towing out there and also airing the bags down for...
Got kit 60317 today. As expected, the kit isn't close to being right. Not only is the diameter narrower than the Gladiator kit but the length is shorter. I don't know what is up with Air Lift but it seems they don't know what's in their own kits. So, the OP still has it right...the Gladiator...
It's been awhile since the OP started this thread so I thought I would add my experience. I did the same as him...ordered both the specific Gladiator kit and the 60921 just to see if they made any changes. The airbags are still the same in both kits. I called Air Lift (on hold for 45min!!!)...
I've read this a few other places too but if it's true then why does the manufacturer have different height bags? And why don't they put on their Gladiator air bag kit that it works with any size lift up to x.x inches and x inch spring internal diameter? It sure would save a lot of questions.
Maybe I'm one of those keyboard warriors but this surprises me. I was never a LEO so I don't have nearly as much experience with wrecks but I would've thought the number one reason towing setups wreck is improper load distribution. Based upon 1st hand experience I know that a big enough truck...
Sorry, I don't have the steel drum so I can't tell if offset is an issue. And if you're generally asking if the offsets have to be the same for it to be a useable spare, I'm not much help there, either. Maybe I shouldn't have posted...
I have 5 of the same wheels ( Pro Comp Wheels 69 Series l; 17x9) and 5 of the same 37in tires and I didn't have to air down to get my 37in Nitto Ridge Grappler up there as a spare. My spare tire is touching the track bar and back of hitch but not much. Maybe when the temps heat up I should air...
Flemington - no idea what exit that is since I'm a relatively recent NJ resident. Looking to hit the Pine Barrens one of these days but I mostly head west for adventure. Seems like most of this state is private.
Each must find the path that is right for them. Often, that path changes, and that is part of the journey.
Beautiful pictures!!! It sounds to me like the trailers/truck campers weren't the problem. You and your buds just enjoy different things.
That is great information - thank you!. As I mentioned above, I towed a T@G XL boondock with my '13 JKUR up S. Colony 4x4 road in CO. My JK has 35s and a 2.5in lift and stock 4.10 gears. my guess is the trailer was around 2750lbs loaded and my payload in the jeep was no more than 500lbs...
I was wondering if someone ever tried towing a really small trailer with a 2 dr jeep down Black Bear Road. At the really tight switchbacks they could unhitch the trailer and swing it around and re-hitch. I'm not close to saying I would ever do it but I wouldn't be surprised if someone has...
That's awesome-great setup!! Im sure that would surprise a lot of people re where it can go. But you are right...due to turning radius nobody in a gladiator or 4 door is towing that down a road like Black Bear Pass.
If I correctly remember all of the posts I've read from the dozens of different posters that have lowered their gears in different jeep forums - the majority say the same thing about wishing they had done it from day 1. I don't believe I've read anywhere that people feel they overshot by going...
Congrats and enjoy! I'll also be eagerly awaiting your update. I don't know that trailer or how you will have the hitch connection/brakes setup but I'll be surprised if the Gladiator, properly setup, doesn't do a fine job towing it, and you aren't able to strategically place your trailer...
