I needed mine, only twice in 3 years, but both times I was solo Jeep. Like many others, they also serve to level the Jeep when camping. I have used both these boards and the roll up rubber mats, use these now as the rubber is much heavier.
This was completely my fault, not enough momentum...
Interesting about not disconnecting the battery. Here in Qatar, the accepted method of changing the battery at the quick-fit places, is to leave the engine running when changing to retain ECU, memory, coding etc. They did it on the Merc ML500 (sooooo many electrical things) I had before the...
I'm running the foam cell pro shocks (in comfort) and they are excellent. Coupled with standard JTR springs I have a Jeep that now rides the tarmac really well and dune bashes at the weekend. The foam cell pro is a seriously robust shock. I didn't go with the springs only because with the...
As a Brit, try finding a car in the UK without stop/start. Honestly, the JTR system is so much better than the 2 Audis I have, which will turn off before I come to an absolute halt and even switch off in the pause from D to R!! The Jeep system is much better and so far..........faultless.
I'm in the club, only cold, front axle and turning left/ right and goes within 400m. Steering pump is a possible but here in the Middle East, oils don't really get the chance to cool down!
Every morning as I leave my parking, the JT gives me a high-pitched squeaking from the front axle/ wheels as I turn left and right, the noise has normally gone within 300m but happens, without fail, daily and sometimes if left for 5 or more hours. I don't get the noise if I go lock to lock...
I run the 315 KO2 (E) and very happy. Ride is fine on the road and quiet, they air down well in the sand and have a tough sidewall when in the jagged stuff. 20,000 miles so far and just beginning to hum ever so slightly.
I'm running 35" on stock wheels and 12 is fine. I suspect having a tyre that's 'too wide' for the stock wheel actually makes it less likely it'll come off the rim when running low pressures.
Not a chance, I run at 12-15psi all the time in the sand but I wouldn't get more than 20-30% back up it. The biggest issue is the angle from the level floor to the dune, hit that too fast and something is going to break. The locals might be able to get up to the top but they will attack on the...
