  1. Would you still do the Genesis Dual Battery?

Make sure your batteries are actually bad before replacing them. There may be another issue. And if so, changing battery setup or deleting start/stop won't fix your problem. you'll just be carrying an existing problem over to a new/different setup. I know that the go to answer for most is to...
  2. Would you still do the Genesis Dual Battery?

I took the cover off of the battery and compressor so you can see where the battery is mounted in my bed. I have a cover that I made which covers it. On the other side, I also have an air compressor. I am now replacing the maxitrac. Nothing wrong with it, just going with a dual which is a little...
  3. Shocks recommendations for 2020 Sport S Sport S, 2020 with Rubi takeoffs?

Yea. I'm pleased with them. My shocks were so shot that when I'm on the rocks and I have to bump it, they would let me bottom out and make it harder to crawl. But these stay stiff and allows the tires and suspension to walk over rocks without bottoming out making the crawl easier.
  4. Rear Dash cam location

I have a rockhard 4x4 rear sport cage on mine. I've had it for about 3yrs now. When I first got it, I mounted a rear dashcam to the cage.
  5. Shocks recommendations for 2020 Sport S Sport S, 2020 with Rubi takeoffs?

I had the fox 2.0s on my JT. They were worn and shot. Just replaced with 5100s a couple weeks ago. They're stiffer but surprisingly more comfortable. And they work well rockcrawling. I had 5100s on my Ram and they were so-so. But on my JT's suspension, I'm liking them.
  6. Would you still do the Genesis Dual Battery?

No, I don't. I didn't do a write up because I wouldn't recommend anyone do what I did. I actually cut open the inside bed wall and installed a battery box that I made so that the battery sits inside the wall a little bit. In these gladiators, we're already struggling for space. So, I tried to...
  7. Would you still do the Genesis Dual Battery?

Brother! I think you and I communicate too much on this forum! We're starting to think alike!?? The reason I say that is because I do have a battery in the rear of my JT. I've had a battery in the rear for two years now. And it is a deep cycle marine battery. I use it for all of my external...
  8. Would you still do the Genesis Dual Battery?

Depends on why you're getting it. If you have issues, a battery delete or dual battery system won't solve issues. You're just carrying the issue over to another setup. If you don't have issues, but just want something else, nothing wrong with that. The dual battery setup looks cool. All...
  9. Aux. Battery: When did yours die (or how old is it now if it hasn't)?

My second factory battery lasted 82,000 miles.
  10. Aux. Battery: When did yours die (or how old is it now if it hasn't)?

Yep, you're right. I used to work part time at Autozone back in the day. And battery sales kept us busy back then too. Way before Jeep JTs and JLs came out. ?
  11. Aftermarket Radios

You have a nice setup! Very nice! I will say this. People have to understand that all of the components and parts are designed and manufactured by humans. No human is perfect. So there is always the potential to have issues. I do understand that there are some brands that will have more or less...
  12. Aftermarket Radios

I second this! I put a Stinger Heigh10 in my wife's JKU. Next thing you know, I removing the 8.4 and installing a Heigh10 in my 2020 Overland. And then I added a Roku, extra cameras that I use when rockcrawling, and my amps and sub.
  13. Aux. Battery: When did yours die (or how old is it now if it hasn't)?

My first battery died after 52,000 miles and then the second time around 132,000 miles. Both times the batteries lived well beyond a battery's life expectancy. They did their job. But there are too many factors to determine how long a battery will last. Most batteries come with a 3yr/36,000...
  14. Thinking about switching to 37s on my daily. Bad idea??

Been daily on 37s for over 2yrs and 70,000 miles now. I'm also on the Mopar lift. Been on the mopar lift for 4yrs and now have 148,000 miles on my jeep. I tow, haul, offroad, and rockcrawl with this current setup. I regeared initially to 4.88s, but now have 5.38s and lockers. You'll have a...
  15. A rant? Lots of TERRIBLE advice in the "In real life" Jeep Community.

One thing I don't do is let what others think or say change what I do and how I do. I bought my Overland in June 2019. Everyone hated Gladiators. Truck folks, jeep folks, and car folks. All hated it. I was one of a few. I call us the Alphas. Lol. Never cared for anyone else's opinion. Now four...
  16. Coolant and Overheating

Exactly. I recently replaced my coolant tank Yes. the 3.6 has an egr which coolant does run through it, but coolant actually runs through the oil cooler itself. The oil cooler has multiple ports on it. All of the ports have o-rings. Two of the ports are for coolant flow which keeps the oil...
  17. Coolant and Overheating

Check underneath the coolant reservoir. The connector underneath is notorious for breaking and you won't notice it just by looking around the vehicle.
  18. For everyone that has electrical issues, replacing the batteries doesn't have to be the first thing you do.

So much truth to your comment. People don't understand that the error messages give you the answer. Way back in Sept 2020, my dash lit up like a xmas tree. It would do it at random times. I couldn't find the issue. Then one day I pulled on the battery negative terminal, the entire connector...
  19. For everyone that has electrical issues, replacing the batteries doesn't have to be the first thing you do.

I think I may take your advice and check a few other connectors over the weekend. Do a little PM.
