I have a JT Overland with no lift and 33" tires, going to put skid plates and rock rails, I do not have the $$ for lift yet, as it gets really $$$$$ here in Canada. Anyone know the capability of the JT to do some of the Badge of Honour trails without lifts or >33" tires?? I do not want to wait...
I was looking for one so that I can modify to what I am going to do to my JT, and have a mini version for my desk at work, lol. Might have to buy and see how I can modify it
I went with the Overland after taking a Sport S for a test drive (only because the wife bought the Sport S on the spot) I really wanted the Rubi, with all the bells and whistles, but after her purchase it didn't leave me enough of a budget for Rubi, oh well, just means I get to spend on...
My Overland version of the JT does not have this, but my Wife's Sport JT does, I have mixed feelings on this....Once you go to an aftermarket bumper there is no need to worry about it, lol
It is a good looking rack, they are just having a hard time with production for release...I am "patiently" (not really) waiting for release so that I can order and get that part of my build done
THat is the one I originally wanted (will use it for my kayaks only) but since they aren't being made yet, I will be going for the next best....Maximus-3 overland rack....once they actually release (delays due to COVID) there is a thread on here and they are listed as a sponsor to the site so if...
that is the wayout jeep concept, but has not been produced by anyone. Lots of companies provide minimalist racks now, just some are slower to get out the door for purchase
There are a lot of full time overlanders on YouTube that offer up routes and GPS coordinates for some more remote spots...but only if you subscribe to their channel, but that is an option. There is one guy (adventure 4wd) that drives an orange JK that has good content and has gone through NE US...
not excited about the drilling either, but it is a better way of securing. plus if you ever decide to wrap your top, like someone "trailrecon" did, it remains a clean look once reassembled.
That is why I'm going with the Rebel Offroad Halo 2.0 rack, where you can easily remove the freedom panels, it just only mounts to roof and not supporting members. A compromise I'm willing to make.
