For the CEL, itās so rare and intermittent in my case, itās hard to say thereās anything consistent or obvious. In the old days Iād say it was ignition related - a distributor cap, rotor and/or bad plug or plug wire. But again, the misfire is so rare I doubt itāa something obvious.

I grew up using an EPA75 and āsun machineā. They can indeed tell a lot about whatās going on. The problem is that with the current technology of engines and ECMs, everything happens very quickly. So fast you literally canāt see it on a scope. We can also thank the EPA for the fault codes...
Some relatively good news for a Friday evening - at least for me. I drove 750 miles today from BHM to south of SRQ. Mostly highway between 70 and 80mph. Fluid temps all ran between 195 and 205F. Oil pressure at speed was 31psi.

Could very well be mechanical but it would be unusual being so intermittent. If it is mechanical I just hope for a catastrophic failure. If I hear rattling and clattering, damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead! I don't want the dealer doing exploratory surgery on my engine....
Yes, there was a lumpy idle just for an instant the one time it set the CEL. In all my cases, the faults are set at idle speed and usually as I head down my driveway or leaving a parking space. One the road at speed, no problems - yet....
