I did a write up on adding euro fogs. You have to add 2 wires to the BCM and they work with the existing fog light button and go like so:
1st click: Front fogs on
2nd click: Front and Rear fogs on
3rd click: Front fogs only again
4th click: all off
The nice thing is I can swap these euros out...
right, I was doubting my wiring at first. But then looking into quake, in order to get the amber sequential to work, you have to use all those parts i mentioned above. (hacker, splitter, turn tap and 3rd brake light tap) If it was as simple as taping into the front turn signal they would've just...
so good news(i think)/bad news
bad news: it's not going to be as simple as taping into the front turns. I'm not 100% why, but I just tried it and no luck. I was hoping the 1 wire would strictly control the amber turns on the tail, but it does not. And changing any settings in JSCAN would give...
that's actually a great idea... just wire to the front signals. I've been digging so deep into wiring that I tend to overlook the easier routes. I will have to give that a try. thanks
slowed down a little bit. I thought I was making good progress with JSCAN but a little disappointed. He mentioned he did the euro conversion on his JL so I was working all week with him. He was telling me all the settings he had, I picked up a set of resistors bc he said his lights came with...
haha sad but true... "did I leave my child in my backseat? hold on let me check my evic"
I remember hearing on the news one day that they urged parents to leave something important like a shoe or wallet in the backseat so you don't forget your kid.... hmmm
Looking at the wires... you can add...
getting closer.... I think. I just need to figure out how to get this setting to ON.
I can toggle it via modules > body controller > activations and it works fine, no short or anything. I can power it so the amber light is always on or toggle it for 5 flashes. Once I find this setting...
No worries and yeah I had halogens but I upgraded to US LEDs months ago and those have been working fine. The US and EU LEDs without BSM both have the same exact wire setup too.
Well taillights are in, BCM is pinned, working with the JSCAN and i'm currently stumped. There's two settings in JSCAN that I mainly played with.
1. "Rear Turn Lamps Output Present" - the tip tells you pin E3 and F42 - which is how I wired them in the BCM currently. When you activate this, it...
Friendly reminder of the BCM...
it sucks going down there so make sure you have a good idea of what you are working on. Some of these plugs you may be working on blindly or close to it.

I think my taillights should be in by the weekend, gonna try to mess around with them and hopefully have some positive results.
hopefully we can have something for you by this weekend
True, it would make sense as to why each fog is wired to the BCM separately. My only other thought tho is I don't think the switch part itself actual has anything inside it that would change the function. From my understanding, all the data transfer is handled internal to the BCM and the switch...
and thanks to you guys! It's actually pretty awesome watching them actually turn on after all the work and knowledge everyone put in on the other thread despite how little the change is. Hopefully we can get the tails working soon!
