Don't panic about mileage yet. I thought the same as you when I ordered mine. First tank I was over 21 mpg. better than my Tacoma. I actually got up to 23 when driving across Ohio flat land! Pulling my camper I would get 18. Then I changed the tires to 33" BFG KO2 and lost some. Now if I get 21...
I just check it on amazon to see if it fits that Gladiator and it said no. You should check Jeep first.
And, unless you plan on doing another Gladiator, why bother?
When you get used to the feel of braking your Gladiator not towing, your 900# trailer with 1800# payload, when pulling it, will give you the feeling as if you were being pushed when applying the brakes. You will notice it when stopping at a stop sign or light, it just takes more pressure to...
In case Nordnded dose not get back to you. When I disconnected the cigarette socket from the console, I pulled it over to the passenger's side behind the dash. It will reach and you can access it by removing the glove compartment. I plugged my dash cam 12v adapter into it.
Here is an email I received today from REDARC:
Hello Kenny.
No problems mate, I appreciated your help.
The Tow Pro will only brake if it sees 12v on the brake wire Kenny. Just purely inertia will not activate the Tow Pro. The good thing about using the “plug and play” harness is that its...
I kind of got what you were saying. I can't believe Jeep would have the avoidance system apply the trailer brakes. But you might be on to something. It may be one reason that they have not come out with the controller due to the models that have the avoidance system.
@WXman , you have any thoughts?
Mine lock in with a sudden pull. If I yank on the shoulder strap it locks in if the vehicle is moving or not. Is there a weight in the roller mechanism that is doing that? If so I stand corrected. I was thinking in the direction of the being like the buckle adjustment roller cam that secures...
If the collision avoidance system applies the brakes the REDARC will apply the trailer brakes as well.
‘Proportional Mode’ (Inertia sensing) for highway conditions will apply the trailer brakes to match the pressure being applied to the Gladiator brakes.
If I could add this: The actual tongue weight of your trailer should be considered as well. If you know it's weight I suggest you lower your tail gate and set the equivocal amount on it and then measure the height of the receiver as shown in the video. That would get you closer to the way your...
I've owned three 2nd generation Tacomas, a 2005, 2007 and a 2015. All three had a TSB call on the frame where Toyota "coated" it after inspecting, the last TSB I received after I traded it in on my JT. Also I saw a frame at a Toyota dealers that was there to be replaced on someones truck. I...
