I have a small 3000 lb winch on the trailer already. With a snatch block I can pull my JK onto the trailer so a new winch is a want, not a need. I really like the line speed (28 ft/m) of the Apex winch and at $350 it was a great deal. The timing just isn't right at this time.
I have 2 of the Apex winches. The one on my JK has been on 2 bumpers. Neither one needed spacers or holes redrilled but on my current Tyger bumper, I needed to enlarge the opening on the top of the bumper as it was made for a smaller winch.
On my Gladiator, it's mounted in a knock off Mopar...
I agree, it's not pretty. However, it does work and is a quick and easy way to add a winch to a plastic bumper with minimal work.
It's not for everyone.
I have 2 of the Apex 1200's with synthetic line. The one on my JK is now 3 years old, the one on the Gladiator is now about 18 months old. Both have been rock solid dependable.
I seriously thought about getting one for the trailer at that price but when I got to my HF, they only had one steel...
All Mopar OEM parts come with a 24 month warranty. It is not the same as the 3 year/36 month bumper to bumper warranty.
You will need to work with Quadratec on this as they are the selling dealer. Good luck.
You can check with Benny though, worse he will say is you got to deal with Quadratec...
My 2021 Rubicon has been extremely reliable other than the paint bubbling on the hood edge, which is a common issue on almost all Gladiators. It also has been driven on multiple long trips and I find it as comfortable if not more comfortable than my 17 GC Trailhawk was. It now has 30K miles on...
Even my 8 year old grand daughter knows a Jeep is a Jeep and not a car. It's either Grammy's Jeep or Pop Pop's Jeep.
I'll let her get away with calling daddy's Grand Cherokee a car.
I do just that. I already have pre approved financing when I go. I won't play their games.
When I bought this Gladiator, I contacted the dealer to make sure they still had it and confirmed the price. Had them email me the price so I had it in writing. I was driving 4 hours and told them.
Got...
Just got an email from RockSlide Engineering. Multiple things on clearance, including Gladiator steps with armor for $1800.
They are reconditioned Gen 2's but for that price with full warranty, these could make someone a great Christmas gift.
Got JLU Reconditioned Gen 3's and 2 and 4 Dr Bronco...
I had the Rock Hard winch plate on my JK. It worked just fine. I had some tough pulls with it and it performed well. I sold it to someone else when I replaced my bumper and as far as I know, it's still working well. I didn't notice any cooling issues with the JK.
My Gladiator has a knock off...
I also have the JL300. Great setup and looks factory.
I have 5 of the 6 switches in use. The only thing I wish it would do is let me determine which individual switches were ignition switched or always on. It's not a deal breaker for me but would be nice. I have red emergency lights for the FD...
The Rock Hard mount works well, I had one on my JK for some time before I changed out bumpers.
It doesn't look too bad but it will allow the winch to block airflow to the radiator.
Pics are up on the book of faces. Look for the Uwharrie Veterans ride group. There should also be some on the Carolina Trailblazers page.
It was one of the best events yet.
