  1. Recovery That Almost Kills A Dude!

I was frustrated to see that he wasn't giving it gas when he was being yanked on. In the video, he said he was barely stuck. His rig wasn't dead- he could have assisted with his own recovery. Also, his passenger could have gotten out between tugs to ensure the Jeep didn't drive over the recovery...
  2. Trail Recon got a new Gladiator

I am glad to see Brad get back into a JT, though I am not a fan of theme builds. Makes me think of OC Choppers. When he sold his first Gladiator that's when I realized he'd be essentially flipping vehicles and to accept it. But as others have said, producing content is his business and that's...
  3. Low field of vision through front winshield

Yep. I'm 6'3 and I like to deadlift, so my glutes are like sitting on a phonebook. With my seat all the way down my head hits the hard top and sound bar. I removed the driverside sun visor to give me a chance at seeing out of the windshield. I know one person that had the dealership shave his...
  4. 317 miles of MOAB trails have been closed [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Here's an excellent video by Keeptrailsopen that details what went into BLM's decision regarding the trail closures near Moab. Part of the issue appears to be river recreation users don't want the possibility of seeing a 4x4 from their view from the water when they pass the trails.
  5. Sold my Gladiator today

How is the cabin space and view over the hood? The one thing I can't stand about the Gladiator is the cramped driver's seat. My head rests against the sound bar and hits the hardtop, even with the seat all the way down. More driver comfort is the top reason I'd switch to a full-size.
  6. Building With Purpose, Not Ego: Berserker Offroad Gladiator Build

I finished my onboard air setup.
  7. My Stupidly-Expensive Onboard Air Setup

I was tired of wasting so much time airing down and up when wheeling. Combined, those tasks would eat up over an hour of a trail day. I've had various OBA setups on my Jeeps and decided to go for broke on this one. Compressor: ARB Twin Compressor. My first one lasted twelve years across three...
  8. How/where do you put your Badge of Honor badges?

I have them mounted on the wall in my office. I'm on my fourth Jeep since starting the BOH program, so I attribute the completions to me, not the Jeep.
  9. 2024 Gladiator Spy Shots

Man, that thing already looks dated. Reminds me of the JKs with the silver bumper caps that faded horribly.
  10. Roaming Out West (Photos)

I don't recall seeing that obstacle at Kansas Rocks. Joking aside, great images!
  11. Anyone with over 100k miles on their 3.6 yet ?

I just rolled 40k miles. I have oil seeping around my valve covers, which is the second time in 20k miles. My engine also has a clicking sound but I'm not sure if it's something I should be concerned with. You can also see some of the oil seeping on the valve cover in the video.
  12. Building With Purpose, Not Ego: Berserker Offroad Gladiator Build

I've been busy and have two updates to share. First, I replaced my front Artec oil pan/transmission skid plate. I bent the first one and was about to swear off Artec, but decided to give them a second chance because they updated the design. Second, my "adventure" Jeep passed 40k miles, and...
  13. What's a mod that you wouldn't do again?

Artec, thank you for the response and for updating the oil pan/transmission skid. I did take another look at it and decided to give the updated version a try. I do see some of the improvements you mentioned and am glad I have a complete bellypan system again. I shouldn't doubt your product...
  14. Lightweight Jeep Gladiator: Why Aluminum Skids Work For For Me (And Artec Industries Aluminum Skids Fitment Problem)

I had to replace the oil pan/transmission skid plate because I bent it. I released a video update explaining why I went with Artec again.
  15. Solar panels

I have two 100w Renogy panels that I either mount to my roof or bed rack, depending on what I'm doing. They're wired to a Renogy charge controller that's mounted in the engine bay. Last summer I took a trip through Utah and the charge controller understandably overheated, and only worked after...
  16. What's a mod that you wouldn't do again?

Artec aluminum oil pan skid plate. I have the aluminum bellypan system and it's a great kit, but the oil pan wasn't as strong as I hoped. When new, the skid plate contacted the exhaust crosspipe because of manufacturer differences in the cross pipe production. Artec support said I had to heat...
  17. Jeep has more competition: Ineos Grenadier

All I was saying was, since it's a new off-road vehicle (my comparison between TLF's Defender and the Grenadier), I'll see how it works out for them, should they try it out. I fully understand it's not a Defender and it's not something I'd be an early adopter for.
  18. Jeep has more competition: Ineos Grenadier

I was being cheeky. They were one of the first new Defender adopters and had a heck of a time getting it to work (they had three Defenders before they gave up). But thanks for the write-up, I'll check it out!
  19. Jeep has more competition: Ineos Grenadier

I like the idea of the Grenadier and am hopeful it sticks around. However, given its target market is long-distance travel, I'm suspect what its reliability will be and how well you can find parts as you travel around the world. Maybe after TFL gets their hands on one and if it doesn't end up...
