  1. Anybody carry a compressor in their JT?

I got tired of moving my compressor to each Jeep I purchased and instead mounted it in a Zarges case. Now I can hand it off if someone else needs to air up their tires instead of running my engine.
  2. Lightweight Jeep Gladiator: Why Aluminum Skids Work For For Me (And Artec Industries Aluminum Skids Fitment Problem)

I minimize the weight I add to my rig to maximize my available payload. I'm not an aggressive crawler (but I used to wheel like a maniac) so I don't need a bulletproof undercarriage. For months I scoured this forum, product pages, and YouTube for insight on which skids are right for me...
  3. (SOLVED) Oil Leak Around Ignition Coils

I noticed an oil leak around my ignition coils that I presume started since my last oil change (no surface oil upon visual inspection). What can cause this to happen? I'm curious in case it's an operator error and I need to change how I drive after it's fixed. I don't drive like a banshee...
  4. Factory Rock Rails vs. Jeep Performance Rock Rails

I'm not a fan of pinch seam mounted sliders if they're going to be used as actual sliders. In my experience, they deform the body panels after a few impacts. But if you're using them for just a step then you should be fine.
  5. ARB Sliders

Here's ARB's 2020 EJS build with close-up pictures of the sliders. On a previous JK I had Nemesis sliders that mounted the same way, with nutscerts in the body. The JL body is aluminum instead of steel like on previous Jeeps, so you need enough holes to spread the load and not strip them. A...
  6. NEW Next venture Rock sliders

Well, that's one way to give your rig a low center of gravity. I appreciate their beefiness.
  7. Muddy Kansas Rocks - Stock Sport to Modified Rubicon Gladiators Tackle Some Trails

Certainly! From what I recall- Gray Sport Max Tow: only mod was possibly hair extensions. Black Overland: 1.5" leveling kit and 33" ATs (unsure which brands) Red Rubicon: stock suspension, stock 33" MTs, 3/4 bed rack, RTT, Method wheels Black Rubicon (mine): 35" Falken Wildpeak MTs, stock...
  8. Muddy Kansas Rocks - Stock Sport to Modified Rubicon Gladiators Tackle Some Trails

Five of us went to Kansas Rocks for a day of wheeling in sporadic rain. I've been going there for a decade to stay sharp on my off-roading skills, so when I'm out on adventure trips I know what I can safely handle. The drivers of the Max Tow Sport and Overland have never been off-road before...
  9. Building With Purpose, Not Ego: Berserker Offroad Gladiator Build

Latest install- the AEV snorkel with pre-filter.
  10. AEV Snorkel Install: Step-By-Step Guide (Don't Make My Mistakes)

I installed the AEV snorkel on my JT and documented the process because I didn't see a how-to video already done. I installed it primarily for the pre-filter, to "pre-clean" dusty air before it reaches the air filter on trail days. The snorkel and components are stout, but I should have done a...
  11. Building With Purpose, Not Ego: Berserker Offroad Gladiator Build

I installed the BuiltRight Industries Utility Rail system. Below I discuss why I went with their kit instead of the Mopar Trail Rail system.
  12. Gladiator Cargo Rails: BuiltRight Industries Utility Rail System Review

My Gladiator didn't come with the Mopar Trail Rail system and I needed more load securing options than the four standard tie-downs. I found an aftermarket bed rail system that, in my opinion, is better than what you get from the factory. That's the BuiltRight Industries Utility Rail System. I...
  13. I Don’t Like Campers Trip Journal: Tonto National Forest Trip With Gladiator, ZR2, Canyon

Dude, I'm there with you. Keep it simple so you can enjoy the scenery. Your first paragraph describes what I felt at the Mt. Rushmore KOA. Dozens of expensive RVs crammed in like livestock and the owners were sandwiched between them watching TV. What's the point of going somewhere if you won't...
  14. I Don’t Like Campers Trip Journal: Tonto National Forest Trip With Gladiator, ZR2, Canyon

Yep, there are certainly tradeoffs. It's almost as if you need one of each so you're most suited for different trips. I've learned I prefer "base camp" type trips instead of "overlanding". I like setting up in one spot and exploring instead of continually moving. The slower pace gives me more...
  15. I Don’t Like Campers Trip Journal: Tonto National Forest Trip With Gladiator, ZR2, Canyon

Dang, that thing is sweet. Two of my buddies are looking to buy one right now. Another friend of mine, the owner of Adventure Motors in Lee's Summit, MO, is a local dealer for those campers. He swears by them and he and his "crew" take them to some crazy places in Ozark National Forest. They're...
  16. I Don’t Like Campers Trip Journal: Tonto National Forest Trip With Gladiator, ZR2, Canyon

When my kids were younger my family went to Colorado and the four of us slept in my 2-person RTT ontop of my JK. The kids had a blast and so far the trip is still our family favorite. In the past, I considered a utility trailer just for the fact it would always be loaded and ready to go. At the...
  17. I Don’t Like Campers Trip Journal: Tonto National Forest Trip With Gladiator, ZR2, Canyon

I agree. We found out what happens when you take a NoBo off the main forest roads to explore a little. While not ideal, I can see people getting into the same situation we did and end up on terrain the camper wasn't designed for.
  18. It's that pesky weight thing again

I made a list of things to change and then I read your last paragraph. You truly have my sympathies and I wish you the best. Good for you for getting out there while you can. I'm located in Kansas City- please reach out if you need assistance while on your road trip. Probably the quickest thing...
  19. I Don’t Like Campers Trip Journal: Tonto National Forest Trip With Gladiator, ZR2, Canyon

Thank you! My setup finally failed me around noon the day before we left. Luckily, my buddy brought a camper with dual batteries that I could plug my fridge into?
