  1. Ordering

And that is why I said that they were likely conservative with their dates. If they tell people late August-early September and they show up in June/July who would be upset.
  2. Ordering

I just got a form e-mail from Dave Smith motors (I am on their mass mailing list, so I am sure others got the e-mail too). Essentially it states to expect ordering to begin around 4/9/2019, production to begin in July, and delivery in late August, to early September. I am sure since they sent...
  3. Where Will the Gladiator Show Next

The Gladiator is in Des Moines, IA at the auto show from through Sunday.
  4. AEV turn key gladiator?

I asked them about taller lifts as well, and there will be a 3.5" spring lift as well, however they are building everything around a 37" tire on the Wrangler since that is the largest they feel comfortable running on the stock axles, and they are building around stock components. In theory you...
  5. What options are you struggling with?

Only thing I ma struggling with is deciding what options I will be willing to pay the price for. At the moment all options are free, so I have no issue with a fully built Rubicon JT.
  6. AEV turn key gladiator?

I have a feeling the Trail Camera will make its way to the 2020 JL, and AEV has already commented that they will need to research options when they get a Gladiator. They might relocate the camera, change the hoop, or come up with something no one has thought of.
  7. AEV turn key gladiator?

I am sure I will buy some AEV items. I am guessing I will do their bumpers, lift, and see what else they offer.
  8. Why do you like or dislike Auto start stop (ESS)?

I had it on my 2016 Cherokee, and every time I got in I hit the button and turned it off. My 2018 Traverse has it without a button to turn it off. In all fairness Chevrolet did it better than Jeep did (or it could have gotten better over the years). One thing I have gotten used to is it takes...
  9. What’s your price Point?

I completely agree that Jeep isn't looking at competing with the existing midsize truck market based on price. The JL is more expensive than most other SUVs in the same size with the selling point being the capability, flexibility, and off-road heritage. I don't see the Gladiator being any...
  10. Gladiator racing at King of the Hammers (by Savvy Off Road)!

Someone mentioned it was how the spare tire mounts.
  11. So, how deep is the bed?

Savvy confirmed the bed is 18" deep below the tonneau cover.
  12. Gladiator racing at King of the Hammers (by Savvy Off Road)!

Casey Currie has raced a Jeep J8 conversion in the past. I am guessing this is being referred to as a Jeep pickup for KOH, and not the Gladiator.
  13. What’s your price Point?

I am hoping to be able to get a Rubicon, hard top, auto for around $45,000 out the door, or fully optioned with leather, and bumpers for $50k. Much outside of that and I will be looking at a Sport S
  14. Which trim?

Stock it comes with around a 31" tire. With a 2" lift you can do a 35" tire on the Overland, 37" tire on the Rubicon (due to fender differences).
  15. Anybody collecting new parts already?

9,500 should be ok for an easier recovery, loaded, stuck in the mud you will be pushing it. What is/was ok for the Wrangler (a lot of people buy 8,000 winches, but I would argue outside of an easier recovery you are pushing the limits), is not going to be ok for the Gladiator. On the Gladiator...
  16. Buying a Gladiator in Minnesota

So far no one had specific ship dates other than Q2. The allocated Gladiators will start showing up prior to custom orders.
  17. Anybody collecting new parts already?

With the JK/JL you could get away with an 8,000 lbs winch. On the JT I will caution that if you plan on using it to haul off-road (i.e. Overland, or off-road trailer), I would encourage you to look at the 12,000 lbs winches. You will be pushing the limits of the 8,000 pound winches when...
  18. Do we know when the Ecodiesel will be released?

They have consistently said calendar year 2020, so somewhere between 1/1/2020 and 12/31/2020. It wouldn't surprise me if it is mid to late 2020 since they haven't given more specifics.
  19. Turning radius.

It will be interesting to see how the turning radius changes with 37" tires. On the Rubicon the axles are 1.5" wider, so I am guessing the steering stops will be more forgiving of larger tires, and the non-Rubicon/Max Tow packages will need the steer stops adjusted.
