Right now JTs are projected to have a high residual value and leases are are cheaper than other vehicles. That's an option, but I think you've got a good plan.
Still kicking myself for not buying a Scrambler
We have a rain forest just up the road. Taking the top off isn't practical. Also it never really gets warm. Had a couple days at 80, been high 60s low 70s all summer. Sunrider top is in my future.
I remember one time we were wheeling out in Disney OK, you may know the place, where Viagra is at. We were wheeling a mixed bag of TJs and JK/JKUs, and an old FJ40, and two Hummers asked if they could join. Both suffered mechanical failures before the day was out.
I have broken parts on my...
They attach to the windshield hinge. There are some clear pics here from a customer https://www.quadratec.com/p/rugged-ridge/rectangular-trail-mirror-jeep-wrangler-jl-11025.24?gclid=CjwKCAjwnf7qBRAtEiwAseBO_Gk2DzFE8nIQ_P5svzyAx8aXBDuzEyEJKl3oeDmRgIkcNgOnQjR2WRoCOrkQAvD_BwE
I haven't seen any aftermarket that does the rear cabin yet. The Mopar mats look like they will be cheaper over all. I know Weathertech is less, but not that much less and they are only the front., Mopar is front and rear. So unless WT comes in at like $30 for the rear, Mopar is a deal
I will say this. If I were going to build a rig to wheel, I would start start with a sport, because I would put an Detroit LSD if the front axle, and a locker in the rear, I think that is more flexible than both locked - rigs don't turn worth a flip with the front locker engaged.
It's a hard...
If you're going to run 37s, and wheel, you'll want to truss the axles and put in chromaly shafts, possibly sleeves, at which point you might as well regear while everything is pulled apart and do the labor once. 37s put a lot of stress on the axles.
The tow package, not the max tow, is a more powerful fan, 240 amp alternator, and a class iv hitch.
Why does that drop the payload by 400 pounds for the Sport S with manual transmission, and does not affect the Sport with manual transmission?
You can option the tow package with manual...
The better cooling is a more powerful fan to draw more air through the various coolers (transmission, radiator, probably oil). To power it they put in a larger alternator.
And I agree that better cooling and a trailer hitch should not drop the payload 400 pounds. I don't get it
Second set of boxes, manual with the tow package. Payload drops to 1200 from whomever has 1600. I don't get that. Tow package is class iv receiver, beefier alternator, bigger fan for better cooling. Why does that drop the payload?
I ordered a Sport S with Max Tow and Bedliner and slush mats, will be 16 weeks tomorrow still stuck in KZ status.
Dealer found a Sport S with Max Tow, Convenience Group. and 7' radio (no bedliner or slush mats) so I took that, I went into the dealer and said I see these on the lots in Tacoma...
Max tow requires the auto
What doesn't make any sense to me is the payload drops if you add the tow package. You would think the extra cooling would help. I don't get that
