  1. Gladiator Rubicon 4xe Hybrid Teased!

That argument may be valid if the government spent less than they took in anyway, they don’t. They run a deficit every year. The country is $26 Trillion in debt. Them not stealing that $7500 from electric vehicle buyers isn’t going to make a bit of difference. If I paid $20k throughout the year...
  2. Gladiator Rubicon 4xe Hybrid Teased!

I understand how taxes work, and income taxes didn’t exist prior to 1913. Even then they were only meant for the top earners. Whether you call it a rebate or a credit, either way I get to keep more of my money. Taxation is theft
  3. Gladiator Rubicon 4xe Hybrid Teased!

I will have already paid the money to Jeep, you get the $7500 rebate when you file your tax return. So I would get back $7500 from the $20k the government stole from me throughout the year. Really not that hard to understand.
  4. Gladiator Rubicon 4xe Hybrid Teased!

A rebate on my tax return isn’t other people’s money, it’s keeping my own money. When I pay in over $20k in taxes throughout the year, that $7500 is my money. If you somehow think you’re entitled to my money please let me know.
  5. Hard top with rear window removed?

The back glass is heavy and the cranks and motors were notorious for wearing out, in the blazers at least
  6. Please tell me there's other soft top options

Bestop makes the Mopar top, they aren’t making an aftermarket one.
  7. Sport S vs Rubicon

So I found this, I can guarantee your gladiator doesn’t have a commercial truck differential.
  8. Sport S vs Rubicon

Where is that breakdown from? I’m not finding any information on them redesigning the Trac-Lok LSD anywhere.
  9. Sport S vs Rubicon

Trac-Lok 100% still has clutches. If they had torsen (Truetrac) it would be a different story. Truetrac is a helical gear style LSD, they never wear out and should be the only kind of LSD used IMO. Trac-lok is a clutch style LSD, the clutches WILL wear out, just a matter of when depending on...
  10. Sport S vs Rubicon

All Gladiators have Dana 44, the Rubicon and Max Tow package axles are 1.5 inches longer overall.
  11. Sport S vs Rubicon

I don’t remember saying anything about the rubicon. Just saying if you plan on lifting and regearing anyway, save money and get the regular tow package, Max tow isn’t worth it in that case. Also, your “Rubicon clone” is missing lockers, electronic sway bar disconnect and 4:1 transfer case, also...
  12. Sport S vs Rubicon

You get the larger alternator and increased cooling with regular tow package as well. Limited slip is available without max tow but is pretty trash from what I understand so why bother. Daytime running lamps are now standard since body colored fenders were made standard. So you’re basically...
  13. Why does the Gladiator not have a steel wheel option?

I was coming to say the same thing. So much misinformation from some people. The soft top does not drop MPG, the tonneau is required if you get the dual top group so they have somewhere somewhat secure to put the soft top since the hardtop is on the truck.
  14. 2022 Rumors?

If they can charge $75k+ for it like the 392 Wrangler I don’t see why they wouldn’t do it. I wouldn’t spend that for it, but plenty people will.
  15. 2022 Rumors?

That’s not accurate. While the range is pretty limited in electric only mode, when in hybrid the electric motor assist in takeoff and applies torque throughout. So even after the battery is depleted you still get battery assisted power, good for 375hp and 470lbs of torque.
  16. The 4XE

As far as making financial sense this is another one you don’t buy for the mileage IMO, you buy it if you want 375HP and 470lb of instant torque. Same reason you would buy an ecodiesel, except ecodiesel doesn’t have 375 HP and isn’t eligible for a $7500 tax credit.
  17. The 4XE

High Altitude edition includes body color bumpers. 4xe is only available in Sahara, Rubicon and high altitude currently.
  18. Trim Advice for First Time Jeep Owner

All Gladiators have Dana 44s, Max Tow package, Rubicon and Mojave have wide track Dana 44, which adds 1.5 inches in total length. May be helpful in some situations, mainly running bigger tires without wheels spacers (different wheels with different offset can accomplish this as well) but not a...
  19. Honest Conversation: How would a 4XE JT compare to the diesel?

Well they had originally said they wouldn’t put the 2.0 in the Gladiator, so maybe they will build a plug in hybrid with the ecodiesel base (I know this is unrealistic, but it would be awesome)
  20. Diesel owners; do you regret you engine choice?

I love that the guy arguing that the diesel isn’t cost efficient is putting a supercharger on the pentastar. SC is higher price than the ecodiesel upgrade, requires premium fuel, which cost more than diesel and the SC voids the powertrain warranty, so when the pentastar blows from the SC...
