The article also says 3.73 gearing is optional on Rubicon, which is not true at this time. When the ecodiesel is released it will have 3.73 on all trims but it’s not available on the Gladiator yet. So I’d take anything said in the rest of the article with a grain of salt.
This article fails to mention other trims at all. All Gladiators have the Gen 3 Dana 44s with 10mm thicker tubes. Rubicon, Mojave and Sports with Max Tow package are wide track that are 1.5 inches wider than Overland and Sports without Max Tow.
8 years in the Army here, I agree with the others, the star decal is not a veteran thing. More for Jeep’s heritage starting with military vehicles in WW2. I have a CIB on my current truck and will on my JT as well, that’s a veteran only thing, specifically an 11 or 18 series that have earned it.
We don’t know that it will be the wide track axles on the JT. For the JL Dana 44 front and rear are included with the diesel, whereas they wouldn’t be on non rubicon models with the 3.6. All Gladiators have Dana 44 front and rear already, so no change is really needed. I wouldn’t be surprised if...
The safety groups are $1700, another grand for LED, and $1200 for hardtop, that’s the cost of the diesel right there that price conscious buyers could easily drop. But yes, adding the 3.0 to an already expensive vehicle will make it more expensive.
Probably won’t see it until 3.0 JL production ramps up. I’ve been watching on their forums and only 6 have received their ecodiesel so far. Lots of them waiting.
It’s funny that any diesel threads turn into roi talks, yet I’ve never seen that on any hemi swap threads. What’s the roi for the $2000 spent on the auto trans? People that want the diesel aren’t likely looking at making that $4k back, they are looking for a torquier option to the pentastar. If...
JLR steel rear is 67 lbs, again, according to quadratec. I’m going by what they have listed for shipping weight so all these number could be off by a bit but I doubt the box and packaging weigh too much
Perfect thoughts on buying the ecodiesel, if you are doing it for the efficiency maybe rethink it. If you want the diesel because you want the badass diesel sound and torque then go for it. It’s only money so might as well get what you want.
For those massively concerned that the payload will...
I may be wrong but it’s my understanding that all JTs have 32 spline, that Rubicon and Max Tow are just .75 inch longer on each side. I’ll keep you updated if I find confirmation on that or find anything different.
I have been researching this pretty extensively although haven’t found much. From what I can tell all Gladiator axles have 32 spline and the only aftermarket option I’ve seen are ARB air lockers, so not what you and I are looking for. I have not seen anything for the JL/JT from Eaton. I’m trying...
I have been lurking for a while, just officially joined the forum recently. I love the wealth of information from all of you here. I don’t have my Gladiator yet as I’m still trying to find a way to fund it. Undecided on trim level and color. Leaning towards billet silver or Hydro blue. Only Jeep...
