So had it back to the dealer for the 4th time and what was originally a noted issue has now been classified as being a "Normal Characteristic of the Vehicle". Had the executive team and the Area Service Manager look at it and said they tested 2 and had the same problem so its a "Normal...
Well they’re re-replacing my steering box. So we’ll see how that goes. The tech said he could feel the notching on the gearbox when he was turning the wheel with another tech.
I would stick to what Jeep recommends. 0W-20 oil is used yes for MPG but also is lighter which helps send oil to the cams upon start up (which is the biggest cause of engine wear when cold). I saw a video where Scotty Kilmer recommended it (which imnot a huge fan of him but this makes complete...
See I think doing those 2 things would fix mine, that the software didnt take the first time and not all the air was bleed out. Be interesting to hear about if all that gets fixed on yours by doing that,
Yeah when youre sitting still turning the wheel semi-slowly its really noticeable. Drive it does it as well but easier to notice it sitting still.
The tech said he did the software update on the EPS module. So well see what they come up with.
Yeah its weird, I never had the wheel feedback before the TSB but got it now. Tech thought it maybe a bad new gearbox so theyre gonna order one just incase but theyre opening a stars case to see what FCA says.
Dropped her off at the dealership this morning, showed the tech the issue and he definitely noticed the wheel start pulling itself while turning.
@Geekjeep you take yours in or find the issue?
Yeah so i checked the oil level and all seemed good. But I get the twitch too, but its a weird almost tactile clicking. And when i hold the steering wheel i can hear almost a whirling sound. I checked the oil level while doing this and it still held full. There is oil around the replacement box...
So thought I'd create a new thread separate of the TSB thread. But i got the TSB completed and noticed that I definitely got a notchy feeling steering. My fluid a little above the cold line when I checked after it sat all night. I tried to turn the wheel from lock to lock to bleed out air. But...

Just got back from the dealer after the getting it installed. It was out of alignment from the steering box install. Now it tracks straight and steers great. I was the first one they did, but they did do great.
Also, they updated the PCM for mis-fire issues and fuel tank vent issues (didnt...
Yes my dealership used it for both the diagnostic and just gave me one to do the repair. Make sure you tell them you have the jeep wave for cause they'll have to make sure they have one.
