Thanks mate! I unlocked the front right after I made the initial climb up the bank so that I could manoeuvre easier to keep the truck wedged in the V. I could have relocked it to climb that root but figured the BLD would do its jobā¦ which it did! š
Yeah, the 4wd247 crew did a video recently that included that track (as well as others in the Glasshouse Mountains that Iāve done in my Gladiator). They made it look a lot harder than it needed to be, but I guess thatās what gets the clicks on YouTube. š
Thanks! I love the Gator color. As soon as I saw it I had to have it, especially with the color matched fenders and roof. š The hood and vents are unique to Australia and Europe/UK export models. Itās the same hood Jeep used on the Wayout concept Gladiator. Itās steel instead of aluminum and has...
Hi all, here's a short video of me in my 2020 Gladiator Rubicon doing the gatekeeper challenge for one of the harder tracks in our area, called Palm Tree. Lots of clay and slick surfaces in this area that can turn tracks like this from challenging to impossible, but was mostly dry this day.
As...
When youāre ready to get a lift give the guys at Solve Off Road a call in Sydney https://www.solveoffroad.com.au/ They have some great options, including a legal 3ā lift with 35s (probably a bit pricy compared to their 2ā lift packages). I have a friend running their lift and heās really...
Where are you located mate? There are a few good Jeep specialists in each capital city, and a number of good parts suppliers. Depending on what shocks you want you should be able to get a pretty good 2-3ā lift kit installed for a fair bit less than $8k.
I agree with you on the restrictions we...
The Gladiator isnāt overly popular compared to other trucks (āutesā as they are referred to down here) available in Australia. The Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger dominate the Ute market, and Jeep hasnāt done itself any favours with its pricing strategy for the JT and JL (priced as premium...
Yeah, that would be awesome! Unfortunately Jeep couldnāt get the diesel to work with the right hand drive, so our only option is the 3.6. Having said that, a few Gladiators have made it across the Simpson Desert already, and Iāll be tackling that trip next August (3-4 days to cross, no fuel...
Good spot! Yes, the Rubicons (and all other Gladiator and Wrangler trims) come with a slightly wider version of the Max Tow fenders (high-line fenders not available). Something to do with tire coverage laws down here and in the EU. Another difference is the hood which is the same as the WayOut...
Looks like Quadratec has them in stock too. https://www.quadratec.com/p/teraflex/falcon-sp2-3.3-fast-adjust-piggyback-shocks-gladiator-jt/ecodiesel-2-3-inch-lift-14-02-33-400-152
Have a look at this page: https://www.falconshocks.com/copy-of-jl-wrangler-unlimited
This page lists all the shock choices for the Gladiator, and each has an option for the JT Ecodiesel. Those are the ones you want, not the Wrangler shocks. The Ecodiesel shocks do fit the petrol versions as...
Yeah, the regular 3.3s hit the auxiliary battery box on the RHD Gladiators and JL Wranglersā¦ ask me how I know! Lucky for you Falcon now has the diesel version that doesnāt hit the box. The reservoir is a lot shorter on the diesel shocks than the regular version.
If you go with the regular...
Just for something different, how about the export Rubicon hood (this is my Australian 2020 Rubicon). Itās steel instead of aluminium, different vents than the US Rubicon and the bulge is kind of profiled like the Mojave, but not quite as high and no inlet scoop. :like:
Doesnāt that defeat the purpose, being to reduce flicking up rocks and mud behind you when youāre running tires poking outside of the stock flares? I donāt see the rational for mounting them in reverse as they donāt really serve a functional purpose then, and it looks kinds funny if you ask me. š¤·āāļø
I got the regular kit with two front and two rear. Iām not a big fan of how the fronts look when adapted to the rear fenders, but I donāt see why you couldnāt make them work on our fenders with a bit of trimming. Thereās a few good write ups and pics on this thread...
