Okay, silly click bait thread title I know, but I figured this might be useful info for someone else. I loaded up my JK on my car hauler trailer and took it to the Cat Scales to do some testing.
Here's the first weight.
Then I moved it back this far.
And the weights changed this much...
As far as I can tell, it's a combination of truly flat sides (my Sienna weighs about the same and is pretty damn flat on the sides, but not as square as either of my Jeeps), and the bit of suspension slop built into these things. Low weight relative to the profile probably doesn't help either...
Awesome! I was down there over MLK weekend and ran a couple trails with my JT and was extremely happy with how well it did. I stayed on fairly easy trails (7 Mile Rim and 3D) since I was alone, but it was still very fun.
Is anyone else going to Easter Jeep Safari this year?
Did you sign up for some of the guided trails? Are you planning to wheel your JT or a different vehicle?
So how about a quick rundown? I'm guessing those are 37's? What flares are those?
Fair point. I dig your rig too, but I can get a little bit of an idea of it with your signature.
This is mine on 35x10.50x17 Kenda Klever RTs. They're very very close in size to the 255/85s. I love them. I've heard great things about those Baja Bosses too though.
I'm also interested to hear feedback on this. It seems like a really cool middle ground between a fiberglass or aluminum top and a Softopper. I like that it has rings and enough capacity to put Kayaks or something along those lines on top.

Reviving this thread!
I just ordered 5 of these from Wal-Mart for ~237 a tire. Nowhere near as cheap as they used to be, but significantly cheaper than I've been seeing them lately. Seems like most everyone loves these tires, and raves about them in the snow despite them not being 3peak rated...
I know this thread is a month old, but does anyone else have an opinion on 5.38s? All the other opinions seemed to be about 5.13s vs 4.10s. Sure, 4.10s and 37s are fine, but 5.13s and 37s are much much better. If you don't believe me, well, my questions and opinions will seem dumb to you.
I'm...
I've read that kind of thing a few times about the Black Series campers. I've been eyeing MDC and Opus primarily, but I don't know that I'll get anything. The wife wants a hardside trailer and I don't want that kind of weight. Maybe we'll end up with a Forest River or something.
