Going into year 5 with a pair of them. No complaints whatsoever. Bestop usually runs a rebate program early spring. I agree they aren't cheap, but we use ours more than enough to justify the cost. Never had any leaks either.
Just returned from a vacation and had a very similar experience. Really don't care for the redesigns they did to put that 12" screen in, and we never did quite master it in 10 days.
If you recall the demeanor of the OP at the beginning of this thread, I'd bet there was urgency. In any event, as long as the concern is resolved in a timely manner, how that happens really isn't anyones call but the dealership.
Hate to burst your bubble, but parts swapping is common at dealerships. Usually done to get a faster resolution to a customer's issue. Never a problem as long as proper remediation is done to the donor vehicle.
I feel for the workers. As a company, Stellantis did this to themselves. They could have taken the Grand Cherokee further up-market and left the Wrangler alone. To have nothing affordable in your line up is crazy when you are looking to sell volume.
