I give Jeep a lot of credit for making a midsize truck. That was a great way to expand the brand and target a few new buyers. The last midsize truck was the Comanche (1986 - 1992). To reach more buyers, maybe Jeep will bring back the van?

Comanche was a great little truck, I used one on my farm in the 80s. There's still a really good fan base for that truck. In a way, wish I had my 87 back.

I too yearn for the days of big blocks that put out less power than a modern hatchback. Huge displacement and shit performance is just the 'Merican way! 🇺🇸
It always cracks me up when people talk about 'fast' and 'powerful' 60's/early 70's musclecars were. They were slow, weak, couldn't turn, and couldn't stop for shit. Their looks is all they had going for them.

I'd rather they bring back the FC version
I'd be open to any van made by Jeep. Afterall, Ram and Jeep could share a van platform.

I drove one in the 80’s when I worked at a Jeep dealership. It was a great little truck.

They should switch brands. There are alot of people that dont belong in a jeep and it takes them a year or so to figure it out. There are plenty of quality alternatives for the consumer. Jeep doesnt need to dilute an icon any more than it has.
Do you understand that Wranglers and Gladiators are still in production because of those buyers?

I understand that many think they want a wrangler until they live with one. Sometimes things look appealing until reality sets in. A bunch of you would be better served by different vehicles. Jeep would be wise to discontinue sales to a dozen or so states and produce lower volume and focus its energy to something with mass appeal. There are alot us that have no desire for a mach e jeep.

There are also those of us who do want electrification. And are enthusiast. Lower end torque, reduced fueling costs, lower center of gravity. Electrification, when done right, is fantastic to go crawling.

They were fast for their time and some of them are still fast today.

A Hemi Cuda ran about a 13 second 1/4 mile.

I guess you don't understand what those buyers are REALLY after, then.
Better served in your opinion, or theirs? Are you going to tell my wife she'd be better served with a different vehicle? I'd love to see that. I want to be listening when you tell her.
My brother is a business person - running a chain of dog grooming and pet resort stores as well as a placement service, but what's he have in the garage along with the fancy luxury vehicle? A Wrangler he had brought in from ME.

If they produce lower volume, they lose the advantage of purchase power of numbers, and lose money. They can't be making something only a few will buy these days.

Who is anyone else here to tell me, or anyone, they'd be "better served" by something else? Who gets to decide that? You?

13 is slow today tho ... but yes fast for their time. That's base model Mustang numbers now. Plus it can stop and turn.

Who are you to tell the majority of forum members that we need to get with the times and bend the knee to a handful of states? Jeep and other manufacturers are already losing money trying to make cars to adhere to regulation made up by people who couldnt put air In a tire.

As far as your wife goes, I dont know what her opinion on the matter is but if its the same as yours I would definitely tell her my opinion. The jeep jl/jt series vehicles will not become the new land rover defender any time soon.

And yes it is me telling you and others they would be much better served by a tacoma, and outback, rav4, rivian scout etc.

I don’t think 13 is slow. It’s going to be faster than most cars on the road.

A base model Mustang outperforming a 50 year old car is expected.

outback, rav4,
LOL - Jokes, hardly SUVs. They are glorified station wagons.. My car has better ground clearance.
Outback? TINY. Rav4? Same. They are intro to SUVs, and hardly even able to call them that.
They are toys compared to a Jeep. No way my wife could haul her quilting friends and all of their stuff in either one of those. She needs the HEIGHT of a Jeep.
Those are station wagons (and even licensed/registered as such here)
