As much fun as I had with my JKU, I am ultimately a truck guy.
And if they decide to not offer an electric option for the JT, I'll probably looking at another platform for my next truck.
That being said I keep my vehicles for 10 years. So we'll see where things are in another 5 years.
Who knows, maybe BYD will sell a truck here. :CWL:
Doesn't toyota make a hybrid tacoma? What about the scout or rivian?

Also makes sense since they killed the EV Ram as well.

I didn't try to omit any information. I simply posted that investors were happy with the changes made in September, which is the most current information. The things you added are from previous months. As I've mentioned several times, it will take time to get Stellantis out of the hole that Tavares dug, but the ship has turned, and Stellantis should be heading in the right direction.
If you look at the chart it is clear that investors are not happy. A few random analysts /= the investors. Especially when no one is actually buying.

They may well turn it around, and that would be nice. If they do, you will know because the analysts will jump on the bandwagon and raise their ratings and price targets way late and after the fact as they always do.

It's important to inform yourself rather than backing into an opinion and then trying to justify it, whether you like the leadership or not. Fact is, at this point there's nothing to back up these claims. No data, no bullish sentiment, just more gum flapping and musical chairs from the folks at the top, coincidentally the same people who led the failed projects of the past and now have even more responsibility for some reason. And more challenges, expecting over $1 billion in tariff costs during the second half of the year.

Well there you go! A modern IFS truck that is offroad capable with toyota reliability and modern "eco friendly" engine options and a more aerodynamic body for greater fuel economy. It sounds like the tacoma delivers on some key areas a handful of members here have. As an added bonus, Toyota owners are known to enjoy a certain air of superiority which they like to flout, so some of you will enjoy that as well. Its a win win transition.

The enthusiasts on this forum aren't the ones that matter. When the daily driver crowd decides to switch brands, Jeep ends up discontinuing models because the enthusiasts aren't enough to keep the production lines open. There's a reason the IFS unibody Grand Cherokee is the best selling Jeep.

They should switch brands. There are alot of people that dont belong in a jeep and it takes them a year or so to figure it out. There are plenty of quality alternatives for the consumer. Jeep doesnt need to dilute an icon any more than it has.

But they WANT a Jeep, and Jeep needs more customers.
They just can't rely on the hard core off-roaders.
There's just no way they can possibly survive without appealing to a greater number and more diverse group.

People like this, my brother, my wife - they help keep the brand alive, including Wrangler. To depend only on those who leave the road on a regular basis would be the end of Wrangler and Gladiator.

I give Jeep a lot of credit for making a midsize truck. That was a great way to expand the brand and target a few new buyers. The last midsize truck was the Comanche (1986 - 1992). To reach more buyers, maybe Jeep will bring back the van?
