Hi all. I am mounting my new Carnivore running boards (purchased from Quadratec) and ran into a weird obstacle. Driver's side mounted fine, but on the passenger side, the bracket doesn't fit around a welded "protrusion" of some kind. The protrusion is only on the passenger side, and came from...
It does everything I need it to do: No more, no less. That and the fun factor of taking off the roof and doors to go driving dune-buggy style. Still smiling 2 years on. :)
PJC replaced the Cruise Control switch along with some other switches in the steering wheel. The root cause was "Implausible Heated Steering Wheel Temp," which caused too much resistance in the switches. I've had it back for a couple weeks now, and everything seems resolved. (Thanks to the...
2021 JTR, Pentastar V6. 30K miles with only 1 hiccup: A faulty cruise control switch. Replaced under warranty about a week ago. That is within a hair's distance of my 2011 Honda Pilot for reliability (0 defects at 30K, way back when...), and far-and-away better than my 2 GMC experiences. By...
Park Chrysler Jeep is going to try replacing the cruise control switch. (We need to wait a few days for parts.) Definitely worse when wet: Was working fine until I went through a car wash, then had the same issue. We’ll see if the fix works.
I've had that issue as well. It seems much worse in very wet/damp conditions (South Carolina), but better in dry cold (Minnesota.) Sometimes I can get it to re-engage quickly, without restarting the engine. Wondering if it's a bad sensor or wiring?
I have FCW w/auto braking disabled. I'm...
1st Jeep but I've wanted one for decades. 1st truck as well. I got it on a 3yr/12K per year lease: I'm a year-and-a-half in with nearly 30K miles (whoops!). I'm waiting for the day the lease runs out and I buy it outright.
I've gone back-and-forth from MN to SC twice, towed trailers, hauled...
I’ve been doing “truck stuff” from day one. (Drove it off the lot and picked up pavers and 20 bags of mulch.) Hauled away tree limbs, loaded it with bins for vacations, pulled a u-haul 1400 miles to move my daughter across country. It’s been exactly what I’ve needed…
My favorite was moving my...
Yep: As several other replies have said, grab a pair of vice grips or pliers and start pulling. I keep a large Leatherman strapped to the back of my seat, and have had to do this at least once in a parking lot. You won't break it, but it does suck not having much leverage.
I wave at JTs and Wranglers: Most wave back. Years of driving anonymous sedans, SUVs, and CUVs have made me happy to be a part of something that owners seem to enjoy.
Side note: In suburban MN, the waves are few and far-between during the evening commute. (People burned-out from work, driving...
Same here (height-wise). I used the same method as the video above several times last summer. I keep a sturdy table in the garage with a blanket on it: Store the roof resting window-side down and throw the old blanket over to protect the rest. It's a little cumbersome but definitely workable.
Another option:
1.) Order 2 new Mojave decals
2.) Trim everything past the letter "j."
3.) Replace with the letter "o" from the new decal
4.) Repeat on the driver's side
Viola: You now have a "Mojo" edition JT!
Agree with the majority response: Do what feels right. :like:
That said, I added coyote mirrors and foot pegs for when the doors are off. (Minnesota doesn't require the additional mirrors but some states do.) Makes the summer drives more enjoyable.
Happy jeeping!
Plenty of room in the back seat to pick people up. (We usually drive our friends around on date nights.) Biggest complaint we've had was the climb up into the vehicle from some of our older friends/family. Running boards or steps would help.
We have the roll-up cover from the dealership...
