I've had that issue as well. It seems much worse in very wet/damp conditions (South Carolina), but better in dry cold (Minnesota.) Sometimes I can get it to re-engage quickly, without restarting the engine. Wondering if it's a bad sensor or wiring?

I have FCW w/auto braking disabled. I'm going to try and get it into the dealership in the next week or so: I'll update the forum with what I find out.
Park Chrysler Jeep is going to try replacing the cruise control switch. (We need to wait a few days for parts.) Definitely worse when wet: Was working fine until I went through a car wash, then had the same issue. We’ll see if the fix works.

PJC replaced the Cruise Control switch along with some other switches in the steering wheel. The root cause was "Implausible Heated Steering Wheel Temp," which caused too much resistance in the switches. I've had it back for a couple weeks now, and everything seems resolved. (Thanks to the PJC crew for a job well done!)

At least it was only unreasonable or implausible temperature and not impossible or even just ludicrous. Might have been dangerous.
Interesting that the heated wheel, which is the rim, not the spokes, would do that, but hey, they are in charge of fixing it.
One thing I have always noticed about these steering wheels - dead of winter, 10 degree out, the rim of the wheel is nice and warm but man turn a corner and grab the spoke area of the wheel and it's obvious, at least mine, has no heating elements away from the rim of the wheel.

It's a nice change to hear a dealership actually tried - and did something - to resolve a problem. Forums are all too full of the opposite.
