I have a 2020 Gladiator sport 3.6 6 speed 3.73 gears and i'm running 35 in tires. I'm having a issue when i'm towing my boat roughly 2800 lbs the cruise control doesn't turn off it just falls on is face, and i have no throttle response unless i turn off the cruise then i have to downshift to get back up to speed /god forbid if there is a hill . { Forgot to mention 4 gear is all i can get 5@6 are out of the question}
So its at the dealer now and the service writer says that its my clutch slipping . i said really then how come the engine doesn't rev up and the tack doesn't go higher
he didn't have answer for me imagine that . so we will see what they come up with . he doesn't know i have been a mechanic for over thirty years this ought interesting . ;)

Has anybody else had this issue ?

Even with 4.10s and 33s maintaining speed in 5th or 6th uphill unloaded can be a challenge below 65. These do not have the low end grunt to manage that. You're only turning what, 1500rpm to go 60-65 in 6th gear with your setup? You need more revs. The engine just can't manage the torque at that low RPM. It can open the throttle body wide but it won't really matter if the engine cannot make enough power to maintain speed with your load.

So yes and no, I haven't had your exact scenario but I have the same problem in a stock rubi without towing. It doesn't sound like your clutch is slipping you just need to down shift and apply more revs and torque to the situation.

I get what your saying , yesterday i towed my boat 110 miles it took me a tank of gas to get there and just a little less than a 1/4 to get back taking the same route, something isn't right. i'm in fl so its not like the hills are steep .
if i'm not towing it still doesn't have response.
thanks for the input .
