Three of my doors hinges are corroding on my 21 Sarge.
Strangely enough the only one that has painted chipped off by a rock is the only one not corroding.
I can't wait to go through the ordeal of getting fixed. Ive seen plenty of nightmare stories on the Jeep Corrosion Facebook page with...
GUYS, we get it, he's possibly over max weight.
Just because he is at or slightly above max payload, the frame shouldn't be bending and cracking. Stop defending Jeeps shitty design.
I have overloaded numerous Fords, some very much so, and never bent a frame.
I've seen a multitude of Fords run...
Thats why I did it.
The Kenda is better than the Falken in the snow even before studding, I don't know if Falken changed the compound, but they aren't as good in the snow as they were years ago.
The Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT is also substantially better in the snow than the AT3W
Just saying...
I went through this on my Rubicon.
I ditched the, ok in the snow, 33" Falken AT3W and bought the 35", 10.5" wide Kenda Klever RT and had them studded
My gladiator is now almost unstoppable in the snow.
I get it. If I had any kind of real commuting I would be back in a 2.7 F150.
24mpg and dead quiet and way more comfortable.
We had a guy here at my work that travels the country doing pipeline work. He was on a JL with 37" Patagonias. Already had 250k+ miles on it. Drove here to North Idaho...
The corroding on my hinges is starting, and I was going to trade it off because I don't feel like dealing with it forever, but my trade-in has tanked so bad looks like I am stuck with it.
We are, because the 2.7 is a V6 with a compacted Graphite block much like diesel construction and other smart design details, that has had almost no real issues with a gazillion of them in service in the F150s. Much more reliable than the 4cyl 2.3L in the Ranger and other models, or the 3.5 Eco...
Do the sipes finally go all the way down? I bought a F250 with half worn Duratracs and they were god awful in the snow and ice. Horrible.
Also, I probably won't buy any Goodyear tires anyway since they pulled their woke, virtue signaling nonsense a couple years back.
I'm real tempted by the Ranger with the 2.7
I had that engine in an F150 and it was a beast, and got 24mpg with 33" all terrains. incredible.
Also it has proved to be a very reliable engine.
This is what makes me not want to re-gear my Gladiator.
I had my Bronco re-geared to 4.88s and have been chasing noises and grinding sounds since.
Had 3 different "good" shops into it at this point and it's still nowhere near as quiet as stock was. And probably have $2500 into the regear at...
Don't blame you, with my 3 kids I miss my F150's pretty much every time I'm in the JT unless the top and doors or off. lol
I would likely trade it in if the dealers would give me what it was worth a year ago, but with my current 1% interest rate, I'm likely just gonna keep it.
