Ahhh the perks keep coming. I’ve got a ton of ducks as well… time to become a stealth ducker!
Well at least it wasn't a Bronco, I'd have to figure out how to locate it and set one of those on it.

Nice choice for the new ride. I had the previous generation ZR2 and it was the best driving truck I’ve ever had. Love my Mojave’s and the ability to put 37’s it but can see the possibility of another ZR2 in a few yrs!

I don’t get the mileage factor.

20,000 miles driven per year

18mpg = $4500 at around $4/g
22 mpg = $3700 at around $4/g

Unless your moving to a vehicle that gets 40 mph or something, mpg isn’t a factor to move into another truck.

My works Toyota Camry hybrid is 72db on the highway. My Model 3 was 73db.

The gladiator is about 74db on the highway. Unless you’re moving to a Mercedes S class or something kind of luxury SUV you aren’t going to be living in a sound cocoon. Were you driving a soft top gladiator?

If you want a smoother riding, full sized pickup , I get it. They have their advantages. The bigger quieter and smoother you get isn’t going to help in the mpg though!

After 4 years of owning several Gladiators I’m moving on. My driving commute has changed (6 hours round trip) and the Gladiator’s road manners and cabin noise was wearing thin on me. I’ll be posting a bunch of items I had plans for in the for sale section in case anyone is interested. Had a blast and will miss the community!
Take care and good luck!

Keep your JT and get one of these for the commute. It'll shave a lot of time off of it, is quiet, and gets almost 30mpg at 80mph. Lol. You can pick one up for a surprisingly affordable price these days, too!

My gladiator sees at least 2x 10+hr roadtrips per month but it's worth the fuel to wheel it all over the desert south west. If it's 2 days/ month is rent a car for those days before I let the Jeep go.
Same, i generally put down 10-12 hours to get to a wheeling spot twice a month. Thats just for fun. Then I commute 1:30 - 2:00 every day. Works fine for me. I got a mini for just long road only trips or for grocery runs. I guess if ya don't use a Jeep as intended regularly it becomes hard to justify.

I moved to east Texas from central Texas a couple of years ago. Not a lot of wheeling opportunities here… The fun of the vehicle died out and I can’t justify the added costs to maintain and drive it. I make good money, but not two car money! 😂

I get it. If I had any kind of real commuting I would be back in a 2.7 F150.
24mpg and dead quiet and way more comfortable.

We had a guy here at my work that travels the country doing pipeline work. He was on a JL with 37" Patagonias. Already had 250k+ miles on it. Drove here to North Idaho from West Virginia. He's a true Jeep guy. lol

Good luck!! commuting sucks. I burn a tank a week at almost $5 a gallon.and that 3 days a week commute. Plus i look for e=reasons to drive it. When i have it i can average 15 mpg and when my wife has is it tanks to about 13 but her commute is 1 mile min is 50 miles round trip.

Break that down to the week or month - especially when some get paid only every 4 weeks, and they have to get by in between, you are talking 800/year difference - 66 a month can matter.
Own that thing 5 years and you have $4,000 difference in fuel.

For a lot of people - that matters.
