So here are the actual numbers I measured
Wide track axles
O.D.- 2.760
I.D.- 1.965
2.76-1.965=.790
.790÷2=.395 (per side)
.395=10mm thick tube walls
Non wide track axels:
O.D- 2.760
I.D.-2.090
2.76-2.09=.67
.67÷2=.335 (per side)
.335=8.5mm thick tube walls
Debate or not, these are true...
I have the dimensions written down in my shop and will provide them when I get a chance. I don't want to put info out based on a 3 month old guess, lol. My brain doesn't work that efficiently any more.
My inside and outside micrometers do not tell lies. As I stated, I verified this to be true. I bought a set of RCV tube seals to install in my Rubicon axle tubes. They were right at 2mm too big on the OD to fit in the tube. I ended up making my own based on my tube dimensions and the design of...
I wanted lockers and started shopping around. I crunched the numbers and the cost of adding lockers was nearly the same as finding a set of Rubicon take offs with lockers already in. Plus the Rubi tubes are 1-1/2" wider and 2mm thicker tube walls than the lower trim levels. Wide track axles are...
Very nice!! Welcome and get your bank account ready, lol. This is my "ex" Willys. It started life as a 21 Willys but there's not much Willy left. I have Rubicon Axles with 5.13's and 37's. You'll LOVE that combo.
Yeah it's a trade off for sure. If I'm driving by myself it's no big deal. It gets obnoxious when I have a passenger. But it's only at 75-80 unless you're driving into a crazy head wind. I still really love the look of it. And after a year of being on, it is showing no signs of wear.
Na, I squeezed my 37- 12.50- 17 Cooper Discoverer SST under there. Yeah it's tight but it fit. My wife's 20 Overland came with the same steel 17" wheel and spare tire. Open diff's and even limited slip will eliminate the drive train damage being spoken of. It's a spare that's meant to get you...
Yes I measured. I bought rcv axle tube seals to install in the Rubicon axles I bought. The aluminum seal body O.D. was too large to fit in the tube I.D. so I had to make my own. The Rubicon tube I.D. is 1.960 and the Willys tube I.D. was 2.050. I did install the purchased rcv tube seals in my...
So I went and looked back in my purchase history. It was purchased in 21 and was $296 then. I don't see any charge for installation but I'm sure I paid for that as well. It wouldn't have been more than a couple hundred dollars though. I also bought an upgraded fob that has some ridiculous range...
We use Drone Mobile on my wife's JT and she loves it. Bought and installed at Best Buy.

Yeah with technology the way it is, unplugging our vehicles does nothing to eliminate being monitored. Not when you also carry a cell phone everywhere you go. Hell theses things listen to every word we say, know everywhere we go and know everything we type. Not to mention the 100's of millions...
