Doesn't matter. I have 2 JT's with the same fox stabilizer and they're both installed different from one another. Just like the pics. No difference whatsoever. If you must decide though, install it so the text reads normally. ?
On a sort of related note, I bought a Milwaukee 1/2 drive fuel impact this week that claims 1000 ft lbs of torque going in and 1400 ft lbs going out. Hell that would Twist those big control arm bolts off!! Haven't used it yet.
Well, many many moons ago I used to be. Lol. I've just learned to be more resourceful. Lol
Well, many many moons ago I used to be. Lol. I've just learned to be more resourceful in my getting older age.
I had my front axle on jack stands and crawled under. I positioned my torque wrench In a way that I could push with my leg and bingo!! Turns out my legs are much more powerful than my arms!! Lol ?
Very possibly started with the JK's. But I can't imagine the CJ's did either. What I've read says Jeep didn't lock the steering because the Wranglers were/are a primary vehicle used as a flat tow behind RV's. Makes sense to me. We are wanting to buy a Wrangler for beating around off road in and...
Thanks. I decided to just jump in and spend the money to make it the way I wanted. The last thing I haven't done yet is the RCV shafts and chromoly rears. I'll get to it eventually. The knuckles are the real deal though. Man them things are solid!!
I installed the rock jock knuckles on mine. Super happy with them. The Reid knuckles are awesome too. I just had already started with Rock Jock components so I stayed with them when I ordered the knuckles.
When I arrived at work this morning after a 50 mile trip at 70-75 mph, I crawled under the truck and laid hands on my diff. I began praying and..........lol, just kidding. Seriously though, it was, my best guess about 130 degrees. I could easily touch and leave my hands in contact with the...
Wow that's crazy!! It's even worse given the gas prices there. My kids are moving out of SD next week. Heading to Mississippi. They will be 4 hours away so we're excited to have them closer to home.
I've not had that experience with my particular truck. It does down shift and overtakes as expected. The gearing kind of reminds me of having the effortless power of a V8 if that makes sense. The entire package is just much happier. I wonder if those that experience shifting issues ever changed...
I haven't had them in long enough to know if there's a heat issue. But I can say I drive 100 miles a day at 75-80 mph and think nothing of it. The truck just rolls at those speeds.
I don't mind at all. I did them myself so the cost was about $30 for the pound of gecko powder. I got into powder coating about 6 years ago with a cheap Eastwood system just to try it out. I used that for a few years then upgraded to a much better system. Powder coating is 90% prep work. That's...
Before I did my axle swap I spent several hours gathering and recording measurements so I had a baseline to set things back too. My toe in was at 3mm (.118) or 1/16 per side. I bought an alignment tool for $80 and it was worth every penny I paid for it. I used it to set everything back where it...
