You can definitely buy 2 of them to sit side by side. The also make one that is normal width, which what I have and one they advertise as "a little wider" or something like that. Regarding bedding on top, no idea, it is a drawer slide so it's going to have sides for the slides to mount to...
I just installed some of their sliders. They were missing the little plugs that go in the little holes. The promptly sent out a bag of them. No issues and prompt response online via email.
Installed and work really well for us shorter stature types. Will have to add the extra protection later, the core sliders were a pretty large investment already.
Thanks for the clarification. My personal opinion, there are lots of places on the truck to try and save weight. Sliders, in my opinion, are not one of those places and that's probably why they are all on the heavy side.
I am not sure of the exact weight, I would say they are about the same as my HD sliders I had installed on a Tacoma a few years ago. I don't think there is any real way to save weight on sliders as they are there to protect your rocker panels and doors from crunching. Now that I have had them...

Another vote for the Alu-Cab. I have had mine on for a year carrying a roof top tent. Lots of accessories available as well. Lighter than steel, stronger than fiberglass and looks good too. I watched some videos of the smart cap leaking around the seams that flipped me from it to the Alu-Cab...
