  1. Air in the 3.6 Cooling System

It has been about 3 weeks and the temperature is consistently in the 195-210 F range no matter what I do. June temperature in South Florida is 90-94F. It still appears full when I take off the cap and the reservoir is full so I guess all it well.
  2. Why is the new Mojave's tow rating higher?

As many keep mentioning here, the softer springs on the Mojave is the reason I avoided the Mojave and went with the Rubicon (supposedly 1,000 lb. more towing in '24) since as I mentioned earlier, I am close to 6,000 lb. when towing the boat. It made sense to me. I have no problem at all towing...
  3. Why is the new Mojave's tow rating higher?

This entire subject pisses me off, not the people here, but Stellantis. I have a boat that with the trailer, fuel and all the other stuff you put in a boat, comes to 5500-6000 lbs. I tow mine (about 8 mile roundtrip from the marina when I do maintenance at home) a few times a year but still...
  4. Would you want a powered sliding rear window?

I am not a fan of Jeeps (and other vehicles) adding more and more "stuff" that will eventually break at some point. For a power rear window whatever .... in my opinion, there is no way I would pay for it unless it was already there and I was buying it off the lot. The only time I have ever even...
  5. Proof that 87 Octane fuel is limiting your 3.6

Sorry for not reading through all the technical specs and other things that are beyond my pay grade, but what is Stellantis (or any other manufacturer) gaining by what may be considered de-tuning by us common folk. Wouldn't Stellantis tune its engines to safely get the most out of them since...
  6. Colors matter... especially if you live in the desert

Probably a regional thing. When I first moved here to Florida from NJ about 35 years ago, I was shocked by how much the windows on cars were tinted. No way they would have allowed that in NJ. Several years ago, I went to get windows re-tinted on my wife's BMW at a very large, well-known place...
  7. Colors matter... especially if you live in the desert

LOL ... Or just tell them them that the car wash you go to has the enhanced wire brush option for 5 dollars more to do a thorough cleaning.
  8. Colors matter... especially if you live in the desert

Wow! Got it. You and @WambliSka just educated me on the "pinstripe" issue. Honestly, I was first thinking that any guy (or gal) that put what I thought were pinstripes on a Jeep is a real pu**y. It's like, in my mind I'm thinking, "come on man, unless it's a mall crawler, pinstripes????" Now I...
  9. Colors matter... especially if you live in the desert

Just trying to figure out "doesn't show pinstripes". Do you mean you get pinstripes on the Jeep? I know they used to do them on cars but can't remember seeing them on a Jeep.
  10. Colors matter... especially if you live in the desert

I would like a lighter color on my top too, even though it is the factory insulated one. I have a white JTR with the black roof and live in South Florida. If I remember to, I put down the windows a couple of inches when I park it. That does help but sometimes I do forget and we get our afternoon...
  11. Air in the 3.6 Cooling System

Thank you. I would never have given it a second thought until I have read all the things about air in the system. I appreciate your comment.
  12. 🚙 YOUR Dream Wrangler or Gladiator

Probably a CJ-7 with the 304 AMC and Quadratrac. And the air conditioning with the vents in a bar along the bottom of the dashboard with the fan switch in the middle to turn it on and off. No, not for towing. Not for doing the Rubicon trail. But a great Jeep that is fun to drive for most of us.
  13. Jeep Freedom, Sturgis SD

Yes, it is for real. We were at the Jeep Beach thing in Daytona FL in April and they made several announcements when we were there that they plan on making this an annual event, from what I remember.
  14. Air in the 3.6 Cooling System

Not a specific Gladiator question (I just changed the thermostat in my '16 3.6 Wrangler) but the same should apply to both of my 3.6 Jeeps. Anyway, I keep reading everywhere that you have to be careful about air bubbles in the cooling system and it is best to jack the front of the Jeep up when...
  15. Does Jeep purposely design their vehicles to get 19 mpg?

Maybe he has his system set for kilometers instead of miles. So he's getting about 13 mpg.
  16. Does Jeep purposely design their vehicles to get 19 mpg?

Fantastic! My first Jeep when I was in high school was a used (really used) '66 Jeepster and after I sold it, bought another one a year later. They were, well, unique. Both of mine had the 231 Buick V6 in them that shook a lot before they figured out how to balance a V6 engine.
  17. [Wolfbox] What Surprise Do You Think It Will Be For This Summer Sale & Prime Day?

Would a 392 with manual shift be a possibility?
  18. $30K Ford Midsize EV Pickup (Ranchero) - News & Info

Maybe the Dearborn boys will be resurrecting the Pinto nameplate on a smaller truck. They will just have to work out exactly where to locate the fuel tank so that it properly explodes when rear-ended.
