Just installed mine yesterday and at least after a short test drive it seems great. I will say if you have Armolite flooring it’s kind of a pain to install. The side nearest the gearshift barely fits in position without cutting the flooring which I opted not to do, so a lot of cussing and...
Thank you for this! JCR made me feel like I was going crazy when I was emailing them about this. I’m just going to be pulling mine off completely once I finish my other 15 projects.
I had a 37X13.5 on mine and even though JCR says it’s fine I think it was probably built for 35’s and below. The swing arm latch is in rough shape too and they want like $130 just for a replacement latch.
I had a soft topper on my last truck and they are great. When I go on camping trips I run a rooftop tent. Also having the option for paddle boards, kayaks and my roam box on top is what made it worth while for me. Just don’t need it all the time and also like the look without it.
I’ve been having second thoughts on my topper too but when I’m camping or it’s raining it’s very nice to have. I’ve been considering buying a gantry crane to pull it off and on when needed.
I think I have one that qualifies technically it can be removed but it’s such a pain I’ve only given a couple half heated efforts at it. Rear swing arm spare tire carrier on a steel bumper. I bought the truck with it and it seemed like a cool idea at first. Then I noticed how crazy unstable the...
I picked up a set of Quake LED fender chop sequential turn signals part QTE1194W. After hooking them up the DRL works, turn signal only flashes DRL, and when headlights are on no turn signal only DRL. Any fixes for this or am I looking at a defective unit? Have Tazer and have already set for LED.
They’re also awesome I couldn’t go to anything else after seeing them. Don’t think I could’ve fixed the drivers light aiming at tree tops without some serious modifications but I definitely would have tried if they didn’t have a great warranty.
Got to give a huge shoutout to Diode Dynamics customer service. I emailed them the photos and also mentioned the adjustment issues I was having and they are sending out a replacement set. I’ll definitely be buying from them again.
I don’t think I’ll be running 40’s anytime soon but I’ll definitely keep it in mind if I do. I think Motobilt had a pretty decent sale recently too.
Just installed my new Diode dynamics lights and then I noticed my drivers side light was way too high. I took the grill off to make adjustments and noticed the plastic around the screws was crumbling. These had not been on longer than a day and it was only hand tight, I didn’t crank it down at...
So true about the trailering. I need my Jeep to get to work on Monday. Paint damage and minor issues are fine but I can’t afford to lose an axle shaft/drive shaft for a Sunday funday.
I ended up ordering the American Adventure Labs set and fender reinforcement hardware. While I think it’s all a bit overpriced, I read some reviews of the cheap Amazon stuff coming off at high speeds and causing damage to vehicles. Not really interested in losing a tire to save a couple hundred...
So this was kind of my thought too. Essentially they provide more clearance, better ventilation. I just need them because I’ll be ripping out the factory liner for the fender chop. Part of me is considering a cheap Amazon set but thought I would see what everyone is running and why.
I found a guy selling his Quake led set on marketplace for $100. He thought they might have been broken but he wasn’t running a Tazer. I took them home and they worked fine for me when I tested them.
Ya I looked at theirs. It seems like most of their stuff is on back order right now. The price seems right but I don’t really like the idea of unknown shipping times.
I’m about to do a fender chop and can’t really decide on what liners to get. Most just seem like cosmetic differences and some are as much as $1k. What’s worth getting and what should I avoid?
