I’m about to do a fender chop and can’t really decide on what liners to get. Most just seem like cosmetic differences and some are as much as $1k. What’s worth getting and what should I avoid?

I have Artec but don’t have experience outside of them. They’re good in my opinion. No rattles or wind noises. They come off easily when needed. That’s all I can expect.

Ya I looked at theirs. It seems like most of their stuff is on back order right now. The price seems right but I don’t really like the idea of unknown shipping times.

I’ve used Metalcloak on my last 2. In and out very easy, great fitment, I have zero complaints.

A lot of their stuff seems to me like it would be made to order. I have heard rumors that they have fairly long ship times but it’s usually overlooked because it’s usually quality stuff.

I have PPE Offroad front fender liners. I love them. They’re metal, look cool, and functional (so far-i only have 35” tires, no lift or anything else yet). The only issue Ive had was due to faulty installation by the owner of the vehicle (yes, Im talking about me) a bolt rattled off making the liner loose and rubbing the tire at full turn. It’s because I had already installed my fender flares before the liners came in, and the liners should have gone under the fenders, not on top. I am now in the process of fixing that issue.

The group photo, mine is farthest to the right.
I also absolutely love my Smittybuilt fender flares. I need to drive it on the road and in Cali it’s illegal to have tires wider than the fender flares. (Though I have seen law breakers on the thanks Patty, my baby doing well do your thing I do I do streets and freeways)

I went with the American Adventure Labs quick release inner fenders on the front. I liked them so much and have popped them on and off countless times to run wiring or just to clean and have had no issue. Will definitely be ordering the rears.

This is just me being ignorant but what do liners do for your Gladiator? Just more clearance? Do they add any protection or do anything else?

What fender chop kit you going with?
I found a guy selling his Quake led set on marketplace for $100. He thought they might have been broken but he wasn’t running a Tazer. I took them home and they worked fine for me when I tested them.

So this was kind of my thought too. Essentially they provide more clearance, better ventilation. I just need them because I’ll be ripping out the factory liner for the fender chop. Part of me is considering a cheap Amazon set but thought I would see what everyone is running and why.

I don’t think you need to do fender liners, I went with AAL and was able to keep the OEM liners. I followed this guys video for tips and pointers.

I did the fender chop with the Metalcloak kit, the AAL liners are quick release with an allen wrench so they provide more clearance, easier accessibility than the stock liners that I didn't want to trim, and they look nicer. Aesthetics! Ha. But definitely a valid not ignorant question, you don't really NEED them and could use the stock liners trimmed down just fine.

I am running the Rugged Ridge chop brackets with Motobilt high clearance inner fenders. Gains more room for 40s with low lift.

I ended up ordering the American Adventure Labs set and fender reinforcement hardware. While I think it’s all a bit overpriced, I read some reviews of the cheap Amazon stuff coming off at high speeds and causing damage to vehicles. Not really interested in losing a tire to save a couple hundred dollars.
