you have a liner in the bottom of the bed of the example truck. Most of us would not have that.
The sides curve in at the bottom - is there a stop or does the bottom corner simply hit that curve and dig in and stop it from going on down.
For example, the board I made, I curved the bottom to match the curve of the bed sides so it rests on the bottom of the truck bed, not in the sides.
Will this actually rest on the curve of the bed sides to stop it from going clear down?

I could see myself adding a board to the bottom to prevent digging into the curves at the bottom of the sides, sort of a stop, and, to keep things from sliding under.

This area curves in - does it rest on these curves or have other stops to keep it from going down farther?

Yes the divider can rest on the curve. It has rubber pads and springs on two sides of it to increase frictional force, enough for preventing slipping down.

We have a lot of property in western PA, I laugh at the hardwood they sell for a premium out here because that's the shit we burn back east 🤣

Oak, plus a large slab of rough-cut oak in the lean-to.

I went to Lowe's and they have left over/scrap lumber on a rack in the general lumber area. I picked out the straightest, treated 1x8 and the guy cut it to length for me and he said "no charge". Once I got it home I made a couple 45 degree cuts at the bottom and Voila!

I ordered one of these. I like that it folds in half. Wood can be bulky and heavy depending and can splinter. Not to mention termites, wood peckers, sap or racoons! I like all metal. I'll let you all know when I get it how it does.

Good idea! Once you get a raccoon infestation they spread just like gophers.

Around here we have to watch out for the iron termites.
