I have a 2022 jeep gladiator JT and I am curious where I can put a switch to wire for an amplifier. I have heard the cigarette lighter but I’m wondering if that’s constant current

The 12v outlet is a "keyed switch" for power in mine. Only energized with acc or run.

Not a lot of choices for power in run/accessory mode. As mentioned the 12VDC outlet is probably the best source. They do call it a console cigar lighter on the wiring diagram.

Quadratech sells a t-harness that taps into it. Their install instructions link has the JL/JT panel removal instructions for access to it.

That's exactly what I'd suggest. It can be bought there or on Amazon.

I'm using that as a source of switched power for my snow plow control.

Do you have the factory installed AUX Switches? If so, there's a bundle under the dash that includes the AUX Switch wires and two hot wires (one switched, one constant).

I do but was never able to find those two wires inside the cab.

They are well hidden. Mine were taped to the main harness under the glove box. I had to search for quite a while, they looked like part of the main harness.

I can’t remember for sure, but on some of my Jeeps you can’t change the power outlets from ignition to always on. Look in the manual. If you have aux switches its easy.

You can't change any of the outlets unless you pull some tricks in the fuse panel. (or other wiring tricks for things like USB and such)
The 12v outlet is not programmable. If you need it changed to always on, you have to change the source of power. Can be done in the fuse panel.
It's go prevent dopes from plugging stuff in and then bitchin' at the dealer about "my Jeep won't start! It's all your fault, faulty Jeep, I only had 10 amps of stuff plugged in for 2 days why won't it start"
There's a reason the ports shut down after time. It's to protect people from themselves.

I know on my Grand Cherokee I could change the fuse location for my back power outlet and it stayed on. I have always on outlets wired to my aux switch wiring in the JT. But I know I have to watch the charge. I wired a shore power charger and solar for that.
