I have a 2023 Mojave with stock 4.10's, 2" AEV lift and 37x13.5r17's. I recently went to Oceanside, California from Las Vegas for 5 days. The total trip was approx. 800 miles with mostly highway driving and about 50 miles around town. On the way from Vegas (I live in Vegas) to CA there's alot of huge mountains. My Gladiator did surprisingly well as I usually don't drive it on longer trips. The avg MPG was 19.1 after 800 miles roundtrip which was pretty good. Normally majority of my driving is around town and I get 14.5-15 mpg avg and I drive it pretty chill.

I pretty much stayed in the 68-72 mph range on the way to Ca and a little faster between 72-75 on the way home. See below for mileage. By keeping around 69-70 on the big hills the truck was not searching for gears, which surprisingly was nice. I expected alot more gear searching, but it I tried to go faster, more downshifting would happen. It was very comfortable in the 68-75 mph overall speeds. Also, it was 113 on my way to Ca, it was hot! Majority of the trip the temp was in the 105-113 range, until I got to Oceanside which was like 72. My tires are normally around 35-36psi, they got up to 41psi on the way home from the heat. I did air them down a little due to the heat.

Did you use a Tazer or other method of setting your tire size to the 37s ?

Yes, the AEV kit has its own tool to recalculate the speedo. I notice a HUGE difference between 70 mph and 75+, fuel mileage is considerably better staying around 70

Hahaha. I'm pretty sure something's broke, because these numbers are not possible with your setup. If I baby mine at 55-60 on the same lift with lightweight C class 35/12.5's I can get 20.5.
Something's broke. LOL

hmmm, I got there and back, so what could be "broke" - maybe since you can make a comment like that you could elaborate. Also, not every vehicle gets the same mpg, etc.... there were a decent amount of downhills also and I drive it pretty easy. The "proof" is in the picture - nothing broke

I'm thinking your tire size calcs are off, or something.
This you, right?
Winch, heavy stubby front bumper, a good bit of poke on the Rhinos.
19 at those speeds, even at 41 PSI just seems unattainable.

I have a similar set up, 37s, 4.10s and I get avg 15-16 mpg. speedo is gps accurate, tire size in my Tazer is set to 36.78

I would double check the size you have entered in the Procal and verify the speedo with gps and the correct measure over a mile

not saying you did anything wrong, but 19mpg sounds high to me, although i might have more of a lead foot which can make a big difference

Yes- that's my truck. I can re check, but I'm 100% sure the AEV tool was calculated for 37's, because when the guy at the dealership did it, I was watching him do it. All I can tell you is that accuracy of the info I gave in my post. Look around the board, people are getting mpg numbers all over the place, so not so hard to believe my numbers.

I do drive the truck pretty easy. The 19.1 was over the 800 mile trip, not my all time avg mpg. I reset it for the trip. I used to tow huge boats for a living and I know how to manipulate the throttle to get better mpg. ( I know laugh, but seriously, read on!) For example, if you're driving on on cruise control - the cruise control does not "see" an upcoming hill, so it downshifts when already on the hill and raises rpm high to maintain speed- and uses alot more gas and lowers mpg. I, speed up a little on the throttle before the hill so I can maintain rpms, not downshifting and keeping very close to cruising range going up the hill while losing a little speed, but again, maintaining rpms near cruising. this method is very, very efficient over cruise control.

The 41 psi was not the whole trip, mostly the tire pressure was around 37-38 and like 32 when in Oceanside in the 72 weather. Also, I filled up my tank to the "rim", ran 280 miles to home and had like 1/4 tank left. Possible the bed cover gives a little mpg betterment also.

Was it still finding 8th gear pretty easily?

Honestly, Im not sure. I wasn't really paying attention to gears, but constantly paying attention to mpg.

I baby my Rubicon on stock wheels and a 1.5 level, did 600 miles round trip Sunday at 75 between GA and AL, mostly flat, barely broke 19. I wish I could break 19 on 37s but it doesn't look like that's in the cards for my 2023 once i get there lol

The most accurate way to enter the proper tire size is to measure ground to center hub and multiply x 2. Very few makers hit the listed size dead on.

Those are load range E Mud Terrains and weigh 85 pounds each, not counting the wheels.

https://www.customwheeloffset.com/buy-wheel-offset2/1932267373/gladiator-xcomp-mt-37x1350r17-tires?
I am aware exactly what my tires are. Some websites give exact tire measurements. My 37's measure 35" tall when inflated an on my truck

Discount tire tells the exact tire size, for example, the Nitto Ridge Grappler 37's are 36.77" on their website.
