if they really have a 6 month reserve and that's not a bluff, i don't think he showed his cards too early at all. Showing your cards too early would be telling the automakers you have a 6 week reserve.
Well as we know the dealers are crafty with their pricing. Dodge is sitting on a shit ton of inventory because anything people want is marked up. Supply and demand can shift the market like we've seen the last 36 months. The corperate side of the big 3 learned somethings from the 2008 battles with UAW.

6 months is a 180 days, depending on the platform there is 100-200 days worth of inventory out there. Even if that falls short the used market will cover that gap.

Big 3 and UAW are playing tummysticks.....lets sit back and see who wins. Plus with interest rates skyhigh......anyone that doesn't need a vehicle now will wait it out. For proof of concept.......why are dealers offering 10-25% of MSRP? There is plenty of inventory, not enough buyers with the current market.

Talking to a fellow co-worker at Ford and that's what he's hoping for. Said the unions are ruining things.
Absolutely.

I grew up blue collar.......I believe in a fair wage for the labor provided. BUT UAW is a bunch of greedy fucks that will find themselves replaced with AI/ML in the next decade.....any one wanna bet some green on it?????? Look at McDonalds business model and how its evolved in the last 5 years.

40% pay raise and only work 4 days a week, that's ridiculous. They're trained monkeys on the assembly line. All of the parts/components are fed to them and all of the tools they use are automatically sync'd/calibrated for them. There is zero skill or thought required to do what they do.

Its honestly a minimum wage job; they have to apply no real skill; its nothing more then on the job training like fuckin McDonald's. Its not like production line workers have MS degrees, PhDs in engineering or certified as Project Managers. No they pay dues and have some ass clown that makes $500k a year claim to be their savor .......just like our........never mind I don't want to get banned for political jazz.

Back in 2008.......yes, feel free to research it I remember it vividly. UAW were whining and bitching because they had to sell vacation homes, boats and they cars (beyond a daily driver) because they couldn't make it on their wages. HOW about this grand idea.......save money or live w/i you actual means.

I grew up poor AF, so i have zero sympathy for zero skilled greedy fools. I busted my way up to where I'm at now. I could buy a SVJ Lambo tomorrow with my income and credit score BUT I don't...I prioritize on the future NOT instant gratification

End of rant and time for a beer, Cheers Mates!

Couldn't agree more. Same for me growing up, no one owes you a "livable wage". Work for it and earn it and prove your worth. Perfect let's strike and let the company we work for go bankrupt. Good luck finding a equal paying job and benefits.

You subsidize the wages of everyone getting payed below a livable wage through your taxes. These corporations know they can pay their employees the bare minimum because we have to cover the bill for the social services like food stamps, medicaid, and low income housing.

No one should be okay with picking up the tab for corporations like Walmart while they earn record profits.

Then don't work for them. Learn a skill people want to pay you for. Rise to challenge and better yourself. I myself, no high school diploma or GED and never complained. From sweat and blood ive done pretty fair, looking to retire by time i am 50. NO ONE OWES YOU A LIVIABLE WAGE that sir is earned by what you bring to the table simple as that.

Just remember all the cooperation started as an owner operator company. Jeff bezos started in his garage, Walmart started 1962... all the cooperation started from some where. I live in Hillsboro oregon Intel and Nike headquarters.. people bitch and bitch. We would still be a small farm town but now one of the top wage regions. Intel and Nike donate tons and the tax breaks the get they can hire more people and grow bigger. This will Raise the economy and bring more people in. Now new businesses can start up to support them. Soo tax breaks and they develop a whole region to succeed.

I guess that's why Intel is shifting to Ohio and investing $20 billion there instead of Hillsboro. Sounds like those tax breaks really paid off.

Ford says they’ve maxed out their offer so we’ll see what happens from here. I’d love to see a Reagan / FAA situation.
The ATC strike in the 1980's was a way different animal than the UAW strike currently going on.

Among the handful of dealers I browsed in SoCoal, half of them took off dealer discount, only have factory 10% off. The other half still list roughly 15 to 20% total discount, all of them have a few thousands dollars dealer adding.

Got my Sarge JTR today for $47k plus tax and fee, $61k msrp.

I'm in Delaware and just got a Sport S with the 15% off plus the dealer gave some $$ incentives also. I wanted a Rubicon but they quit the 10% off on that, so Sport S was the way to go. It should work fine for surf fishing the Delaware Beaches. Now I just have to sell my 2000 TJ....
