It's even worn the leather a bit smooth....... and yes, it's time to use some leather cleaner on it for sure, but it's actually worn, too.
mine does the same. I have a wear mark on the left side... 2013 JKUR 10A.

btw... 9 & 3 is essential because the hewland shift-lever is right there at 3.

I think this was a phase-in engineering change. The non-orange stitching is the same color on all the other trim pieces. Cleans up the look. Not as dramatic.

The large thump pads were too aggressive for street and off-road use. I can still park my thumps in the 9 & 3 pockets with enough grip. With the large thump pads you can’t easily grab that spot with your left or right hands to pull the steering wheel left or right with one hand. It’s too large and feels like you’re grabbing a golf ball.

Could be wrong, but that’s my opinion.

You also noticed that there's a lot of non-orange stitching in these - including the handles, around the seats and other areas. Pics I took of the 2024 a year ago show a whole lot of non-orange stitching through the whole truck.

Have you actually handled a Mojave/392 wheel? I did lol @ 'too aggressive for street/off road use'. ;) You actually think 'Jeep engineering' got together and said " guys we have to remove this aggressive wheel on Mojave..... owners have been complaining for years about it...."

It's 100% a cost cutting measure.

You can one hand the wheel easily btw..... don't know how we 2020-2024 Mojave owners have managed all these years....

well. We can agree on that note. Btw... I've owned many Jeeps.

I wouldn't take the Mojave or 392 too seriously. I don't consider these high-performance off-road race vehicles. A fancy steering wheel with orange stitching doesn't make you a racer.

The variety reduction and cost cutting measures are welcomed. It reduces inventory and MFG standard costs. That leads to lower inventories and higher return on assets.

Jeep is in this to make money and continue developing new products.

so the only place I want to see excessive orange accents are on my KTM 500 EXC Six Days.

;)

Holy shit a Jeep exec made an account here...

I agree tho, as an enthusiast site, we should be most focused on Jeep making more profit and how we can help. When Jeep removes content and keeps prices the same.... it helps us help them.

I mean, the Mojave isn't a race truck.... Jeep should remove the bypass shocks, the hydraulic jounce stops, the rear locker, and just put the base Sport parts on it. Then they could make more profit on Mojave and simplify the lineup.

Just effing lol @ this thread....

I wouldn't be happy with the standard wheel. I had a sport. And a 24 mojave. The mohave wheel is much better. My son in law also has a sport. His first comment driving my mojave was the wheel was so much more comfortable.

If I never had a mojave wheel I couldn't miss it. But having it I wouldn't trade back to the standard wheel.

I'd want the orange race wheel. To me looks much better. But now I'm wondering what else did they cut out of the 25's to drop the price. And the rubicon's msrp went down too, wonder if it lost anything.

probably for the best.... the dude from san diego left me a nice condescending note at midnight. I quoted him and soon after his post was gone and so was the quote. Thats why that message above about MFG inventory reduction sits there without appropriate context.

since I got $10K off MSRP I'll go buy a Mojave steering wheel and store it. Steering wheels are a wear item.

👍
